Somehow I made it through the next couple of live shows as one by one the other finalists were voted off slowly.

I was sat reading the paper the Sunday after a Week Fours live show when there was a knock at my door.

"Come in" I looked up. "Oh hi Louis"

"Hey Vic, Sharon's not feeling great, she asked me to bring you this" he handed me a sheet of music. "It's your song for this week"

I looked at the title.

Life Is A Rollercoaster

Was she taking the piss?!

I looked at Louis. "You are joking?"

He just looked at me. "Louis!"

"What!? I don't even know what it is!"

I handed it back to him. He looked at it and laughed. "It's not bloody funny!"

"Oh Vic" he said still laughing.

"I can't sing that"

"You'll have too" said Louis seriously, "Simon doesn't want any changes to be made this week, especially after last night"

Last nights show had been a bit of a shambles to say the least, certain acts were getting a bit ahead of themselves and making diva demands which resulted in the crew not knowing whether they were coming or going. I was sure last night hadn't been good TV, I'm not surprised Simon was annoyed.

"I can't bloody sing it!!" I complained to Louis.

"Vic, for goodness sake, you sang The Winner Takes It All last night, and did it perfectly. That's a bloody hard song to sing, and you did it better than I've heard it done before"

"But.."

"No buts, I know you can do it"

"In fact, I think you can do it better than Ronan"

"Louis! I'll tell him you said that!"

"Tell him!" he said laughing "I don't care!!"

I was about to call Ronan and moan down the phone to him, when I thought better of it. He wouldn't be able to come to the week five show as he was doing a promotional tour, he was going to record the show and watch it a day later. I would let this be a surprise.

I went downstairs to find Carrie the vocal coach. "Hey Vic, what can I do for you?"

"Can you help me with this?" I asked.

"Sure" she put the music on the piano and laughed. "Who picked this for you?"

"Bloody Sharon, and I'm not allowed to change it!"

"You'll be fine, we can try it up a key"

"And" she said thinking, "how about we change the tempo, maybe slow it down a little?"

"Mmm" I thought for a moment. "Sounds good to me"

"At least then it won't be so obvious when I ruin it!"

"You won't" she reassured me.

Just then, Louis came storming into the music room with a face like thunder. "I'm sorry but I don't care what your excuse is. I'm giving you the Sack!" he was yelling down the phone.

"I'm Ronan's manager and I never want to see your face again!"

He slammed the phone down on the table. He looked livid. "Have you seen what the stupid cow's done?" he asked.

"What stupid cow?" I said. I could name a few, I thought.

He handed me the newspaper he had in has hand.

My night of passion with Ronan Keating

Said the headline. I laughed out loud. There was a picture of Laura posing in her underwear trying to look sexy, but not getting it quite right.

I read the story and laughed even more. The night that she was supposed to be talking about was the night that Ronan had been staying here. Although he wasn't meant to. I'd had to call up Louis and get him to help me sneak poor Ronan out in the morning.

"I hope you've given her a good telling off" I said.

"No....I've given her the sack"

"Oh" I grinned.

Mental note to self...never cross Louis Walsh....
