As it happened, for the rest of the UK leg of the tour Ro continued as was. So I went along and either watched the show, hung out at the hotel, or sometimes stayed behind in Dublin.
It wasn't until the following January that I got to go on stage with him for the first time, and I'll admit I was petrified.
We had settled into our lives together with worrying ease. It was almost as if we'd always been together, a fact that I still struggled to get my head around some days.
When we got to the venue for the first evening of the Irish leg of the tour, the RDS Dublin, there must have been about a million girls waiting outside, chanting "Ronan, Ronan, Ronan!"
Oh my god.
"Babe, how do you cope with all of this?" I asked. Not having really experienced the fans to that extent before.
"Ah you'se just get used to it" he said.
"There'll be after you one day with that voice of yours" he said, I shook my head at him.
"I don't think so"
"I know so"
The tour bus drove us underneath the arena, it was much the CIA I thought to myself. But I guessed that all arenas must be similar.
We made our way backstage and realised we were late. We'd been stuck in traffic for ages, the Dublin traffic was an absolute nightmare!
"Ten minutes Ronan!" shouted a voice from along the corridor.
"Damn!" he cursed, then winked at me, "I was hoping to show you around my dressing room"
"Were you now?" I raised my eyebrow at him.
I laughed, I knew what he meant. We'd not really been alone together since that night on my birthday. Ro had his arm around me, and suddenly pulled me closer to him and kissed me.
There was the sound of laughter in the corridor, I turned around and saw a tall blonde girl grinning at Ronan. I swallowed down the sudden jealousy I was feeling, but there was no denying how good looking she was.
"Can't you keep your hands of the fans for five minutes?!" she said.
"Laura!" said Ronan, he sounded annoyed.
"This is Vicky" he said.
"Oh sorry" she mumbled.
She didn't look sorry at all. If I didn't know better I would have said she was trying to make me feel uncomfortable.
"Laura, would you take Vic and get her ready with a mic and stuff"
"Sure" she smiled at him.
"Follow me" she muttered.
She stomped off down the corridor, I struggled to keep up with her.
I could tell she didn't like me, but what I didn't know was why? My looks were nothing in comparion to hers.
We came to a door with a piece of paper marked 'wardrobe' on it. She opened the door and walked in. She picked up a dress hung behind the door.
"Here" she said shoving it towards me
"Try this on"
I pulled it over my head and laughed at my reflection, it was massive, like a huge tent.
"You're far too small" she said, as if it was my fault!
"We've not got time to change it now, Ronan's due on in two minutes"
I stared at her as she walked out the door to get the radio mics ready.
I looked at the dressing table in front of me, there was a pot of silver safety pins, shining at me. I looked at my reflection again. I couldn't go out like that, I looked like a child that had stolen her mother's clothes.
Suddenly I had an idea.
I picked up a few safety pins out of the pot and gathered in the dress at the sides, I worked quickly, aware that I had no time. I looked in the mirror again, it looked more fitted now, I'd even go so far as to say it looked 'alright'.
Whatever... it was much better!
Laura came back into the room in a hurry, luckily she didn't notice what I'd done. I had a feeling she wouldn't be too happy. She set my mic up quickly.
"Follow me" she said.
I followed her along the corridor which was dark now, up onto the stage which was dimly lit. I could see the audience, it was bloody full.
I suddenly felt nervous.
"You...stand there!" she pointed to a microphone stand.
Bossy cow, I thought to myself.
I put my mic in the stand ready to start.
"It won't last you know" she said suddenly.
"Excuse me?"
"You and Ronan" she said, "He'll get fed up with you"
"Really?" I said half amused, "And how'd you work that one out"
"I just know" she said, rather smugly I thought.
To be honest I couldn't really care what she thought. But I realised now why she didn't like me.
She obviously fancied Ronan for herself.
