I was distraught when I had to fly back to London that night, I really didn't want to leave him, we'd had such a lovely day together just the two of us.
We finalists that were left on the x factor grew closer over the next couple of weeks, and it was hard to see friends I'd made get voted out.
I couldn't believe it when a couple of weeks later I found myself in the semi-final, which in turn would later be the final.
There were only three of us left.
Me, Zoë and O2 - one of the groups.
They were a boy band that no one really got on with, mainly because they were all so arrogant. I was sure that there were only in the final due to all the teenage girls that were bound to have voted for them.
The concept of the final show was pretty simple. We would each sing two songs. One of the judges choosing, and the other chosen by us. It had to be a song that we had already sung in the series though. After we'd each sung two songs there would be a telephone vote as per a normal live show.
The act with the lowest number of votes would go home. And the two that were left would compete for the final prize. The final two would each have to sing the same song, that had been written especially for the show. We'd all had to learn it this week, but I had a feeling I wouldn't get chance to sing it.
I could see myself coming third and Zoë and O2 being in the 'final'. Zoë was amazing for her age, she was only seventeen, and O2 would have the all important teenage vote.
Sharon was having none of it.
"I knew you'd be here tonight" she said to me, as we were standing in the corridor backstage before the show went on air.
"You mark my words, you're going to win this competition lady!"
"Yes, I look forward to signing you to my record label on Monday" said Simon as he walked past.
Yeah right, I wish. I thought to myself.
I was happy of course to be in the final, but I was also quite sad as there was nobody in the audience to cheer me on.
Ronan was doing a one-off private gig that he'd committed to months ago, way back before we'd even met. Sophie was on a holiday that she hadn't been able to cancel. And I couldn't ask my parents to come - it was too much.
At least I had the judges behind me.
As I stepped onto the stage to sing my first song I noticed a banner in the audience that said
Vicky's got the X Factor
I smiled, then looked again and saw my mum and dad, Sophie, Dave and Ronan.
How....?
Suddenly the pianist stared playing. This was the song that Sharon had chosen, typical of her to pick the hardest one- The Winner Takes It All
I don't wanna talk, about the things we've gone through...
I went backstage shaking. I couldn't believe they were all here. It certainly made my night.
I watched Zoë and O2 perform and then stepped out to do my second song, this was one that I had chosen.
I had thought long and hard, and had chosen it for two main reason's. Firstly because it had got a brilliant reaction the first time round, and secondly because I had no idea Ronan was going to see the show live, I thought I could get through it with no nerves....
Hey baby, you've really got my tail in a spin...
This whole bloody competition I has I thought to myself, not just you.
I finished the song and could see Ronan grinning at me, I waved and went backstage to join the others.
