So Mike called Louis, told him he was being ridiculous and when he came round to see Ronan a few days later, bought me some interesting news. Louis had agreed to lay off for the foreseeable future, if I used Mike's recording studio. Louis was keen to help Mike get it up and running and for him to get other credible artists in there.

Which meant that I'd have to do some promo shots..

"Is that part of the deal?" I asked warily.

Mike chuckled softly. "It is. But I don't know what you're looking like that for?"

"You'll be fantastic!"

"Hmmm"

"So anyway, I know you want to leave Louis hanging for a bit. But if Ro's busy and you want to come 'round, don't worry about bringing Jess, me and Karen can look after her"

"But won't you.."

"Yeah I'll be with you in the studio sometimes, but I've also employed a sound engineer. If Louis really does want to make this happen, then I need to train someone else as well"

I felt slightly disappointed but wasn't sure why. "That's great Mike. I can't thank you enough"

"And there was something else Vic...."

"Yeah?"

He paused, looking slightly uncomfortable. "Louis mentioned something about a tour..."

And that was the very beginning, of the chain of events, that allowed my perfect life to unravel...

When Jessica was about six months old, Ronan was about half way through his album, I decided the time was right to get back into the studio. The six months that followed were a whirlwind of early mornings, late nights and not much sleep in between. Ro went off on a promo tour, and I spent much of my free time in the house on my own.

It was one cold snowy night in January that the past decided to catch up with me again. I had not long got back from the studio and settled Jessica down when there was a knock at the front door.

I went and opened it cautiously not sure who'd be there at this time of night. I'd never been so scared as that moment when I saw him standing there.

"You're looking good babe" he said.

"What...how..."

"I know everything" he said with an evil laugh. "Why do you think I came round tonight when I know your precious husband isn't here."

I stood paralysed with fear on my front doorstep, coming to my senses I realised I couldn't let him hurt me, not with Jessica in the house. I tried to slam the door but he'd stopped it with his foot. I reached for the phone in the hallway to call the Gardai.

"I wouldn't bother with that" he said.

"The lines are down because of the snow"

"I don't believe you" I said defiantly, and picked up the phone.

Shit, he was right, there was no dialling tone.

"Don't look so scared" he said. "I'm not going to hurt you, I've just come to claim back what is mine"

"I've come to take you home" I stared at him.

He'd lost the plot, seriously.

"I'm not going anywhere with you" I said.

Thinking quickly I stamped on his foot. "Bitch" he hissed. I kicked him in the leg for good measure, and as he yelped in pain, he moved his foot away from the door frame. I slammed the door on him and then began to sob uncontrollably.

What the hell was I going to do now?
