Previously : She switched off the light. While she was looking for his hand, Tim came closer, and hugged from behind. One of his arm was around her waist, the other one took his place underneath her head. She intertiwned one of her hand with his before he kissed her neck. Everything felt right.

Recovery wasn't an easy thing to achieve. The physical pain was gone since a while, psychological damages were the biggest baggage to live with. It wasn't constant in her dayly life but it was there. Words were stuck somewhere in her head, and sometimes they made themself home and messed with her. Sometimes she felt overwhelmed, insucre, unloved, in the way. More than one year after he crossed the line, sometimes it felt like it was yesterday.
But thanks to life, beside therapy, when things began to trigger her, she had him, Tim. He was her constant life line during the last year. A week ago, she silently dragged him to her room, and she fell asleep in his embrace, a kiss on her neck and since then, both them were walking on eggshells. Not because they weren't sure of what they both wanted but because, he wanted to do the right thing, and she obviously had trust issue. Lucy knew Tim was different from her ex, but still, her last experience was traumatic. So, for now, they didn't change a thing : Spending time together, dinner, film, cuddle and falling asleep in each other arms.
One morning she opened her eyes first. He was there, laying on his back, his head turned on her side. She observed him, his face, his breathing, his arm above his head, his fingers were moving in his sleep. Out of nowhere, she kissed him, softly, afraid to wake him up. Out of nowhere, in his sleep, Tim dragged her against him, her body was now on his. In the comfort of his warm body, she felt asleep in that position. Tim opened his eyes an hour later, and was surprise to find her on him, peacefully asleep. His hand began to draw circles on her lower back until she opened her eyes for the second time of the day. When she realised where she was, she quickly sat on his waist, wondering if it was the best move or not. The distance between them was tiny when he decided to sit.
" Morning Luce "
" Mor..morning.. "
And she hugged him, her arms around his neck, his around her waist. They weren't thinking anymore, the hug was already a memory, both of them were staring at each other. His eyes watched her lips quickly before being back staring at her and she did the same. It was now, or maybe never. Deep inside of her, she knew he won't make a move, he was too afraid to cross a line he couldn't. She cupped his face and kissed him. Surprised at first, one on his hand cupped he right side of her neck before he asked the permission to deepen the kiss. Being kissed that way was amazing. The world outside didn't exist anymore. They were lost in their tiny bubble, making out like teenagers. Out of breath, they paused it. Few seconds after, he pecked her lips twice, and she smiled. A real one.
" Well, hm, morning ..."
" You already said it Luce.. "
" Yeah, true, i did.. "
" Something wrong ? "
" No, no, hm, I hm.. Breakfast ? "
" Breakfast. But first, come here. "
And he hugged her, tight. Because he knew her, too well. She kissed him first, she crossed every lines she built over a year. And maybe it was a bit too much to handle. They took the time they needeed, and finally had breakfast. Before he left her apartment, he asked her on a date, because well, it was the next step. She said yes, her hand playing with the hairband she had on her right wrist. He noticed it but he didn't mention it. Maybe later. It was a new habit she had to deal with her anxiety. It was around 9 p.m when her phone rang.
From Tim to Lucy (09:00 p.m) : You sure you're ok to go on a date ?
From Lucy to Tim (09:02 p.m) : Yes why ?
From Tim to Lucy (09:04 p.m) : You were playing with your hairband.. If you're not ready..
From Lucy to Tim (09:10 p.m) : Oh.. no Tim, i'm ready. It's just, it's not always easy. I know you're different, i know everything is different, but, deep inside of me, you know.. You really think i'm no ready after i kissed you this morning ? Listen, i might be a little bit broken, but, i want to give us a chance, i want more than just sleepovers, i want more morning like the one we had this morning and more. So, i'm ready, panicked but ready.
From Tim to Lucy (09:15 p.m) : Good, then tomorrow 7:00 p.m.
From Tim to Lucy (09:16 p.m) : And i want it too.. Goodnight Luce..
From Lucy to Tim (09:18 p.m) : Goodnight Tim.
Two years since he crossed the line, two years since Lucy knocked on Tim's door, two years since her life has changed. She created a program with LAPD for the victims of domestic abuse. She wanted to use her battle to help others. Things were better now. Sometimes things triggered her a bit, but she knew now how to handle and move on. She studied enough to be in the third position when she passed her sergeant exam.
After their first date, Tim asked her on a second one, and third one. Step by step they built something. It wasn't always easy, but it was true. She was sitting outside, her eyes staring at her engagement ring. She was a bit emotionnal. Love wasn't that bad after all.
« Out in the deep end, you're treadin' water, Waves crashin' on you, mm-mm, mm-mm. Feels like you're sinkin', like you're goin' under. So you peddle harder, oh, you don't have to be so strong when you're with me. On your darkest nights You'll never be alone, I'll be by your side » ♫
