For Tim, Lucy was his former rookie, her friend, nothing more. It was not like Angela already asked if he had feelings for her after he confessed they practiced a kiss for their undercover assignment. They kissed a second time, in a tiny room, and nobody could see them. Was it necessary ? Probably not. Things were messy, but they were. This operation was a turning point for him because since then, he changed and he didn't realised it yet.

Weeks after this op, weeks after Lucy left for UC school, they were all having a drink after work. It was something they started after Jackson's death, being together outside work.

Drinks round 2 were for Lucy that time. She took order for everyone and went to the bar. While she was waiting for their drinks, a man introduced to her. She did the same and started a short conversation. She ended things with Chris when she came back for UC school. Her time apart from him, helped her to realise she hadn't feelings for him, they were just together because it was easy. She was available, so she let the man talk, it was nice.

From where he was, Tim was staring at her, at them. Who was that guy? Since what happened with Caleb, he always had an extra eye on her. He was not a fan of Chris, but at least he was harmless. Something was wrong tonight. He didn't have to say something, his body language spoke for him. He was tence. On the other side of the room Lucy had a great time, the man seemed funny, she was smilling, everything went well. A part of him was happy to see her enjoying her time with someone, but, the other part was.... well... Jealous. Yes. Tim was jealous. It was not him making her laugh like this.

" Something wrong ? "

Angela. Of course it was her. Of course she noticed something was wrong.

" Nothing wrong "

" If you say so... " she made a pause, and looked at him " Ashley not coming ? "

" We're not together anymore "

" Lucy ended things with Chris. "

With that, she offered him a friendly smile and left him. His eyes were focused on her, still talking with the unknow man.

Lucy saw Tim and Angela talked. She was having a great time with that man, but.. but it was not him. Tim was a man of principle. She was his former rookie, he was her superior. There was no way he let himself sank into something different as a friendship. Their kisses were for work, right ? The only reason she ended things with Chris was her feelings for the man, not because Tim was a part of the equation ? And Ashley was in the picture. Mike, it was the unknow man name, gave her his number, and went back to his friends.

After she brought drinks back, Lucy realised she forgot to order something for herself, she excused herself and walked to the bar, again. And Tim followed her. Lucy smiled at him and ordered her drink.

" Ashley not coming tonight ? "

" We broken up "

" Oh. Am sorry. You ok ? "

" Perfect. We didn't want the same things. That's ok. " He smiled. " Met someone tonight? "

" Uh ? Oh. Yes. But hm, nice guy, but, not calling him back. "

" Too bad for him i guess.. "

Lucy saw the smile he had on his face. It was quick, shy, but it was here. Maybe the two tequillas she had before helped her.

" So, maybe you can buy me my next drink... "

" Maybe... only if you let me invite you on a date sometimes.. "

" Deal. "

And he did. He bought her her drink. Weeks of questions, weeks of interpretation, weeks of pushing back feelings, ended tonight. Jealousy and alcohol were the perfect cocktail. And she did, she let him invite her on a date. And maybe it was the best decision they made for weeks.
