FIVE YEARS LATER

"Olivia" I heard Lia yell

I turned around to see her coming up to me, her hand wrapped around Ezra's arm, a shiny engagement ring resting on her finger

"we're not late are we?" she asked me

"no, you're actually early"

"are Kai and Liam here already?" Ezra asked

"they've been sitting with the rest of the crowd for a good while now" I told him

"is Ares near? I wanna wish him luck" he said

"he's getting ready but I'll tell him you said that"

He gave me a nod of understanding before speaking up again

"we'll go find Liam and Kai and find the best spot to watch the match from"

"I'll go with you" I said

Ares was running last check-ups with my uncle

He didn't let me go with him which was odd since I've been with him during every check up ever since he started pursuing boxing career professionally, which has now been for the past 3 years

He's been acting off for the past couple of days but I figured it was from the pressure he was feeling about today's match

My thoughts went quiet when Kai and Liam came into my sight

Ruth, Ares's grandma, was sitting next to them

Liam saw us all three nearing them and his face instantly lit up

"hey guys, I thought you wouldn't make it" he said to Lia and Ezra

"we wouldn't miss this one" Lia smiled at him, giving me a quick glance

I saw how even Liam and Kai gave each other a quick glance but I didn't ask about it

Ruth looked to me

It's been 5 years since she won her battle against the disease and she's been glowing ever since

She never missed one of Ares's matches and today wasn't any different

She gave me a smile but said nothing

They've all been acting weird and secretive with no shame

"I'll go find Ares before the match starts" I said and excused myself

"we'll see you guys later" I heard Lia yell after me

My eyes started to wander around, in hope to find Ares or my uncle

They stopped looking when I spotted them next to the ring

Ares was wearing the white gloves with gold design that I bought for him for his birthday years ago

He was shirtless, white boxing shorts resting on his lower body
