Raquelle walked into the annual charity auction event with her friends, the room was large and there was a projector at the far end of the room and a stage. They were guided to their table and sat down. The table was large enough for her and her nine friends. The room echoed with people chatting and making their way into the venue. There were three bottles of wine on each table. Raquelle poured herself a glass of rosé and also a glass of water and spoke to the girls on either side of her. She was speaking to a girl on her left hand side when she was nudged by her friend Stacey. She followed her friend's gaze to two groups of men who sat down at two tables adjacent to them. She rolled her eyes playfully, knowing she meant that Stacey had seen her eye candy for the night.

Jay walked in with his team for the annual charity event. Ever since he had become assistant coach three years ago after retiring from playing international rugby they had been attending. He loved attending every year, apart from this one. It was his turn to be the auction date. It was a tradition at the club that the longest single player or coach would be auctioned off to go on a date with whoever the highest bidder was. He was nervous, he had seen the last few years dates and they were all women in the sixties/seventies who had a kink for younger men.
He sat down and ordered a beer, he would need a bit of liquid courage tonight.
-
Jay sat there speaking to his friends, when something inside of him told him to glance up and look adjacent to him. His gaze lingered over to a petite blonde sitting with her friends?. She was the most beautiful girl he'd ever seen, it slightly took his breath away. Who was she? He needed to find out. She looked over at him and smiled, he smiled back and gave a small wave. His heart felt like it was soaring.
-
Raquelle felt someone looking at her. She looked over and saw a sandy brown curly haired man looking at her, he was broad and had a short beard. He looked so handsome in his tuxedo. She smiled at him. He smiled back and gave her a small wave. She blushed, her friend Stacey followed her gaze "looks like someone has an admirer" she teased. "Oh shush" Raquelle blushed "and someone likes him too" Stacey sang.
-
Ted, the CEO of the charity came to the microphone. "Our next auction is for a very lucky lady to go on a date with one of these fine gentlemen" he said gesturing to the rugby team. "In case it's your first year. Let me explain, as that may have sounded a bit odd...so every year a member of the USA mens rugby team and coaching staff nominate a member of their squad to go on a date with whoever the highest bidder is and all of the money will go to the LA community scheme, the reason we're here tonight. Can I also add we also have another session this year for any budding rugby players in the audience to have a private session coached by the legendary ex Scotland international Jay McGuinness" he said. The audience clapped "but first, your USA rugby bachelor this year is....Mr Jay McGuinness. Jay come up here" Ted smiled. Jay shyly stood up and waved. He then walked upto the stage.
-
"Omg we need to win you that date!" Stacey said. Raquelle smiled "no it's fine" she said "I won't take no for an answer. I haven't seen you look at a guy like that like ever!" she said.
-
Jay stood on the stage, hoping the pretty girl four rows back would show her paddle a few times and win. Ted started the auction, he noticed one of the older ladies show her paddle. He saw Raquelle lift hers, then another older women lifted hers. But the blonde girl kept persistenting, his heart lifted. This was going to be the best one yet, he thought.
-
"Going once, going twice. Sold to the blonde lady over there" Ted said as he pointed in Raquelles direction. Jay couldn't help but hide his grin. "Please meet our Romeo by the bar to organise the date" Ted said, shaking Jays hand before he walked off stage.

Jay walked off the stage and over to the bar. For the first time he was nervous, he felt his hands get clammy and his heart racing. He saw her walk over, he smiled she was even more beautiful than he thought.
-
Raquelle smiled widely as she approached Jay. He was even more gorgeous, than she thought. He was around 6 foot tall, sandy brown curls, beard and ocean blue eyes. She couldn't help but admire him there in his navy blue tux and white shirt. She walked over to him "hi" he smiled "hi I'm Raquelle" she said "Jay...of course you knew that" he laughed nervously. They then gave each other a quick hug. "I'm honestly so relieved that you won" he said. She laughed a bit "thanks" she said "normally it's like an older woman who wants a bit of arm candy for the night...so yeah having a date with you is awesome, you probably hear this all the time but your beautiful" he said nervously. She blushed "thankyou. You're not too bad yourself" she said.

The next night.

Jay walked into the restaurant, it was the auctioned off date with Raquelle. He had never been so nervous about a first date, he got guided to the table and sat down, he placed the dozen roses on the table. He took a deep breath he'd never been so nervous, he had butterflies in the pit of his stomach. He decided to scroll through his phone whilst he was waiting.

Raquelle walked into the restaurant and saw Jay, she walked over to him, he looked so cute. He was wearing a white shirt and beige suede jacket. He looked up at her and beamed, he stood up and gave her a hug. She could feel his muscular body underneath his shirt, it made her a little weak at the knees. They both sat down, and looked at the menu. The waitress approached the table and they ordered drinks. They talked about their careers, their lives and family. Jay made her laugh and he was the most sweetest guy she'd ever been on a date with. He was confident but not cocky.

-
Jay smiled throught the date, this girl was incredible. She was smart, funny and beautiful. She was everything he wanted in a girl, she was the girl he'd been dreaming about the whole of his life. He couldn't believe he was on a date with her, even though it was an arranged auction date. It didn't feel like it. He noticed her hand slowly creeping across the table, so he copied her and eventually they were holding hands.
After Jay paid, as he insisted on it. They walked out the restaurant, he took Raquelles hand as they went to grab a drink from a bar. Jay bought himself a beer and bought Raquelle a gin and tonic, they found a table in the corner and sat down together. The table was quite small so they were in close proximity to one another. Jay rested his arm on the top of her seat.
-
As the night progressed, the two had a few more drinks. They got closer and Jay leaned in, Raquelle saw this and leaned in aswell, she soon captured his lips and he leaned into the kiss. It was like fireworks. She put her hand on his cheek as he brought her closer to her.

After that night, the pair didn't leave each others side, apart from when they were working. When they weren't together they were thinking of one another.
