Backstage at the Jimmy Kimmel Sjow
Jay walked into the studio, tonight his band Lawson were playing on US live TV for the first time in three years. It was the first time they would be playing in the USA without their guitarist Tom, who had passed away from cancer two years ago. He was greeted by their manager Jayne who ushered him into the dressing room. He then gave Nathan, Siva and Max a hug. They got changed and ready for soundcheck.
They walked down the corridor when he passed a familiar face, he looked back. "Selena??" he said "oh my god! Jay hi! What are you doing here" she said before giving him a hug. "Lawson are performing on the show tonight. Are you a guest on the show?" he asked "yeah I am. It's so awesome to see you again" she said. "Yeah you too. Listen I got to run too soundcheck, but if you've got a free minute, come say hello I'm sure the boys would love to see you before tonight" he said "yeah definitely" she said. He gave her a quick hug before walking away.
Raquelle walked over to Selena "who's the cute guy?" she said "who?! Jay?" Selena asked "yeah do you not think he's hot as fuck?!" Raquelle asked. Selena shrugged "No but I've known him since I was eighteen. He's like a brother to me. But he is an awesome guy and if you like him I would be happy to introduce you" she said. Raquelle nodded "yeah I'd be up for that. Thanks Sel. How come I've never met them before?" she said. "Okay then, uh not sure they went back to the UK, they got dropped by the record label as they weren't young enough to be successful like one direction and they didn't have the look. Which is bullshit but that's the music industry....so yeah. It was shit to see them leave LA, they were the first guys who believed in my music and gave me the freedom to do what I wanted in the studio,but give me ten minutes and we can head down to their soundcheck" she said. "Yeah awesome. I need to do a few things anyway" she said.

Ten minutes later.
Lawson was in the middle of soundcheck, performing. Jay saw Selena and gave her a quick wave. He couldn't help but notice the incredibly attractive girl standing next to her. She was blonde petite and pretty, she had the most amazing blue eyes. He smiled at her as she watched him perform.
The boys grabbed a drink, as Selena walked over with the pretty blonde. "Hello stranger" Max smiled before hugging Selena as did the other boys. Jay smiled at Raquelle, she smiled back at him. "It's so awesome to see you again" Siva smiled "oh my god it's so nice to see y'all again. This is my assistant and best friend Raquelle!" she said. The boys said hello, Jay couldn't help but look at her, Raquelle said hello to all of them and blushed when she looked at Jay. "How long are you guys in LA for?" Selena asked "for the foreseeable, we are based here now" Nathan said "oh that's awesome. I'm holding a charity event for the rare impact and I need someone to perform, as an artist dropped out and. Would you guys be interested? It would be a massive favour" Selena asked "yeah sounds good! When is it? Max asked "next week on Friday night" Selena said "we're there" he said.
Jay smiled at Raquelle, she was one of the prettiest girls he'd ever seen. She smiled back at him.

Jay put his guitar strap on his shoulder and began strumming tuning it. He fixed the microphone and began strumming again. He began to sing. From the other side of the room, Raquelle walked in with an iPad busy helping to organise the event. She looked up when she heard Lawson play. Jay was standing there singing and playing the guitar. He had the most amazing voice and he looked so gorgeous. She smiled and watched him play.
Jay was singing when he saw Raquelle watching him, he blushed and smiled.

Jay jumped off the stage and grabbed a water, "hey you sounded really good" he heard a voice say. He took a swig and turned around, he smiled widely "thankyou" he smiled "so are you looking forward to tonight" she asked "yeah I am, how about you?" he asked "yeah it should be a fun night" she said "I uh better get back" he said. Raquelle nodded disappointingly "uh yeah of course" she said. He smiled and nodded before going back up on the stage. She nodded and walked away. "Smooth mate" Max commented "I just didn't know what to say. I can write songs but not speak to a girl it's pathetic I know" he said "it's not mate, why don't you write her a song" Siva said. Jay nodded "yeah maybe" Jay said.
He sat at the piano and began to sing "wish my heart could talk but it's all in my head if I had five more words I say I wish you were mine. But it's these four letters that hold me back every time" he sang. Half an hour later, he had written a new song about how he felt for Raquelle.
A few hours later.
The lights were down and the spotlight was on the stage. Selena walked into the stage "so the next performers are some of my oldest friends, they are the most amazing band and they were the first ones to allow me to explore my music. I am so thankful they agreed to perform. Please welcome Lawson to the stage" she said. Lawson came out on stage and Jay gave her a quick hug. They opened with Money, Jay could feel Raquelle watch him, he felt even more nervous. They then sang a song called Lovers where Jay didn't break eye contact with the pretty blonde girl, it felt like they were the only ones in the room.
The last song came, here was Jay's chance to tell Raquelle how he felt. He sat down at the piano "so the last song were gonna sing I wrote about a few hours ago. It's about a girl I met. You know who you are" he said before he began to sing four letters. Raquelles heart soared as she smiled. Jay sang directly to her to show her the song was about her.
The audience clapped, the lights went up and the bar opened again. Selena nudged Raquelle "go and talk too him" she said. Raquelle blushed and she nodded. She walked over to the stage "uh hi" Jay said and got off the stage "hi..." she said "you look beautiful by the way" he said nervously. She blushed "was that song about me?" she asked. He nodded "uh yeah" he said stroking the back of his neck. She took a step forward "what did you think?" he asked. She kissed him softly "that was the sweetest thing anyone has done for me. Thankyou" she said. "I would write infinite songs about you if that's my reward" he said gaining a little confidence. She leaned in "if you write more songs like that it will be more than kisses you'll be getting" she said. He smiled before she kissed him again. "I'm sorry if that was too forward. One too many proseccos" she said. He smiled and leaned in "if that's your way of being forward I'm totally okay with it and I'm gonna have to get you another" he said, before taking her hand and they went over to the bar. They then got their drinks and danced together, kissing each other now and again.
Selena smiled from the other side of the room watching them together. He had a rough few years losing his bandmate and his girlfriend leaving him. She was so happy they found each other. She knew she could trust Raquelle with Jay's heart and that she could trust Jay with her best friends heart.
