Piper and Alex decided to stay at Demi and Nathan's, as they weren't sure how their parents would react to the news, and Piper didn't want them to be uncomfortable. And she'd know they'd be accepted at her little brother's. Twenty minutes later, Nathan drove up into the drive way. They got out and he helped get the suitcases out of the car and walked into the house. "We're home" Nathan shouted in the hall, setting the cases down "Daddy!" Riley said racing into his dad's arms from the lounge "Hey buddy!" he smiled as his son jumped into Nathan's arms. He then beamed "Auntie Piper" he squealed and jumped from his dads to his aunt's "Heya hun, you've grown so much" she said and kissed his head, while squeezing him tightly. Demi then walked into the kitchen, "Heyy" she smiled "Hey, this is Alex. My girlfriend" Piper smiled "Hey, it's so nice to meet you" Demi smiled. "You have a girlfriend but your a girl" Riley said. Nathan and Demi both held their breath "Does that mean, you both get to wear dresses at your wedding" he asked, Nathan and Demi breathed a sigh of relief. Piper giggled, "Maybe sweetie" she smiled and kissed his head. Riley got down and ran into the lounge to watch cartoons. "He's so cute" Alex smiled "Yeah but he's a monkey though" Nathan smiled "I have made you guys some food, if you're hungry" Demi smiled "Ahh that'd be great i'm starving" Piper said, taking Alex's hand with Nathan following into the kitchen.
They walked into the kitchen and saw Demi had prepared a load of snacks waiting for them "Dem you didn't have to do this, a bag of chips would've been fine" she smiled "No it's no problem. Besides we wanted you're guys opinion, Nath's thinking of adding it to the menu" she smiled. "Oh my god this is so good" Piper said, taking a bite of the quiche. "Aha thanks Pipes" she said. "Can I get you a tea or anything Alex?" Demi smiled "Yeah a tea sounds good" she smiled and went round to the other side of the island. "So Alex how did you two meet" Demi asked "We met at the bar I own, she was there with one of her friends and I just couldn't take my eyes off her as soon as she walked in" Alex smiled, looking over at Piper who was talking to her brother, lovingly. She then turned around to Nathan "How about you and Nathan" she asked "We've known each other forever, I met him in freshman year at High School and we've been together ever since" she smiled "That's really sweet" Alex smiled "Yeah, i think when you found the one you just know" she smiled. Alex nodded "I completely agree" she said. "So tell me about this bar you own Alex" Nathan said walking over to the island putting his hand on Demi's back as she prepared the tea. "It's only a small bar, but I'm hoping to convert it into a nightclub/ restaurant as well" she said. "Oh that sounds awesome" he said "Yeah there's an abandoned warehouse right next to to it, so I'm hoping to buy that. I put an offer in then if I get it, I'm gonna knock through and build into that" Alex said "That sounds pretty rad. If you need any help you know where I am" Nathan smiled "Thanks Nath. I might do as you have restaurant experience and I don't" she said. Demi put four cups of tea on the island. "Thanks" Piper and Alex smiled "Thanks beautiful. And yeah no problem i'll give you my number before you leave" Nathan said and kissed Demi's cheek. "You're planning it to be a restaurant in the day and nightclub at night right?" Piper said, after sipping her tea. "Yeah close the restaurant about nine, then if you're going on a big night out, you don't have to go anywhere just walk through" Alex said "I love that" Nathan said. "Yeah but finances..." Piper said "Pipes!" Alex whispered. "What was that?" Nathan asked "The bar, hasn't made as much money as I planned, so it might take a little longer" Piper said "How much you behind?" Nathan asked "Five thousand dollars" Alex said, looking at her tea. Nathan then walked over to the dresser and got his cheque book out and wrote a cheque, he handed Alex a check for five thousand dollars "Nathan I can't" Alex said as she got handed it "You can and you will. We're family Alex. Put it as my contribution towards it" he smiled "You're so awesome. Thank you so much Nath" she said "No problem" Nathan said. He then got a text on his phone, "Change of plan guys. The rents are coming here tommorow" he said "How come" Piper asked. "Apparently the lake house has been double booked" Nathan said, he then looked up "oooh we can have a barbecue" he beamed "Nath got a new barbecue" Demi said, rolling her eyes playfully "She's a beauty" Nathan said. "Have we got barbecue stuff in?" he asked "I think so but I'll go to the store and buy some more anyway" she said "Okay sounds good baby" Nathan said and pecked her lips.
The Next Morning
Alex and Piper walked into the kitchen, and saw Demi making pancakes. Nathan was sat beside Riley as they sipped orange and was doing Riley's homework from school. "Morning" Piper said "oH hey girls. Did you sleep good?" Nathan asked "Yeah, really good thanks" Alex smiled "Do you need help with that?" Piper asked Demi. "No don't be silly, go and sit down. You're our guests" she smiled. "Yeah the kitchen is Dem's domain, I get told off, if I even step foot in it" Nathan joked. Piper smiled and sat down, next to Alex "So you ready to face the music today?" Nathan asked "Better sooner than later" Piper said, as Alex squeezed her thigh. "Well we're on your side whatever, they're gonna be here at twelve. But just relax yeah, don't want you worrying yourself" her brother smiled. Piper nodded "Is Tom coming" she asked "No, he got called into work. But i'm here if you need back up" Nathan said, smiling a little. "Thanks Nath" Piper smiled.

There was a knock at the door, Demi opened it "Oh hello Demetria" Carol Chapman smiled as she embraced her daughter in law. "Hi Carol and Bob" she smiled and hugged their father aswell "Come in" she smiled. "Thankyou darling" Carol said, as her and her husband walked in. "Everyone's in the yard" she said. Carol and Bob nodded and followed Demi to the garden "Nanny, grandpa" Riley shouted and ran towards his grandparents. "Hey mom and dad" Nathan said as he greeted his parents with a hug. Piper looked over and saw that her parents had arrived "Time to face the music" she said, as her and her girlfriend stood up and walked over to her parents. "Piper hunny, its so good to see you. We haven't seen you in forever, have you found a fiance yet?"Carol asked not noticing Alex. "Mom i'm gay" Piper blurted out. Nathan looked at her, then at Demi she turned to their son "Ri, momma needs your help in the kitchen" she said, knowing what was going to happen. "Okay" Riley said and ran to the kitchen, Demi gave a reassuring smile to Alex and Piper, then kissed her husband on the cheek, before following her son to the kitchen.
"What do you mean your gay?! You can't be gay. It is not the way we raised you PIPER" her mother said angrily. "It's not my choice, I fell in love with a woman" Piper said Carol looked at her disgustingly. "Is that her?!" Carol said with venom, her eyes darting to Alex who standing nervously next to Nathan. "Y-yeah, this is Alex my girlfriend" she said grabbing her hand. "Oh god...my daughter is a gay, what are they going to say about this at the club Bob" Carol said. Nathan then snapped, "Instead of worrying about your precious reputation how about you give a damn that Piper is happy!" he said "You knew about this?!" Bob asked "Yes. I found out when I visited her in NYC" Nathan said "And you didn't tell us" Carol spat "because I knew you'd be like this. I don't give a damn that my sister is gay, all i care about is that she is happy, she is loved and i damn well know that Alex makes her happy and feel loved more than some arsehole who only gives a crap about the designer clothes he wears, and what car he drives, ever could! And I certainly don't give a crap if that he is a she. She didn't make a choice ma, she was born that way" Nathan said, he then looked at his parents. "If you can't accept that, then i-i'd like you too leave my house" he said. Piper looked at him surprised that he had become so protective about her and her girlfriend. "I'm sorry but we can't Piper, this is not the life we envisioned for you....we are so disappointed, but now we know why you turned down Larry" Carol said "Larry was a creep ma" Piper said "But he came from a good family, he could provide for you" Carol said "Number one, I have my own job and second Al gives me everything I need and more!" Piper said, holding her girlfriends hand tighter. Carol snarled "she can't give you children! And before you say it I will not accept laboratory babies. That is not the proper way" Carol said, Piper was on the edge of tears, how could her parents be so cruel "I think you should leave" Nathan murmured, as Alex engulfed Piper into a hug. "We're disappointed in you too son" Bob said "I was protecting Piper" Nathan said coldly. "I just feel so betrayed and hurt, by both your decisions" Carol said "Save the waterworks mom, I'll tell Riley something came up....I have my sisters back always" he said as he folded his arms. Carol and Bob both turned on their heels and walked out.
