Demi was in the kitchen, helping her mum prepare the salad for the barbecue. The doorbell rang "Joe, can you get that?!" Dianna shouted "on it!" Joe responded. A few minutes later, Joe walked into the kitchen with a familiar looking boy, the brown haired man smiled and greeted Dianna with a hug "Hey Di" he said "Hello my love!" she said. "Hey Demi, long time no see" he smiled at her "Hey Nath" she said, he walked over and gave her a hug, she still had the same butterflies around him. "Wanna beer dude?" Joe asked "sure, thanks man" Nathan said, before smiling again at Demi and walking out onto the decking with Joe.
Nathan walked outside and greeted Nick, "Sup man" he said "Hey bro" Nick said giving him a hug. Nathan took a seat between Nick and Joe "So where's the incredible douche" he asked, with a smirk "They broke up, he cheated on her. Fucking ass" Joe said. Nick nodded "I'd honestly like to go and beat the shit out of him, but he could probably beat me up" Nick joked "I reckon we could all take him....just jump on him" Nathan said, with a shrug. "Dude with the amount of steroids he's on. He'd probably knock us all out!" Joe laughed. The boys laughed, Demi walked out with a bowl of salad and Nathan couldn't help but stare at her, still after all these years she was the most beautiful girl he'd ever laid eyes on. With her long brunette hair and those beautiful eyes. Nick nudged her "yarite there man" he asked "uuh..yeah" Nathan stuttered "were you checking out our baby sister?" Joe asked "What...pfftt no" Nathan said "Dude we know...it's all good" Joe laughed "Yeah we know you've liked her for YEARS!" Nick said "But if you hurt her, we'll have to really hurt you" Joe laughed "Hahaha like too see you fucking try" Nathan laughed.
Just then Gabrielle came running over to the boys and jumped on Joe's lap "Hey uncle Joey" she said "heyy princess" Joe said"who are you?" Gabrielle asked "I'm Nathan, what's your name?" he said "Gabrielle" she said shyly "and what princess are you?" he asked "Belle" she said , Nathan smiled at her "I love Belle, she's my favourite princess"he said. "Do you like disney films?" she asked "I LOVE disney films" he said "I have the little mermaid and frozen on my Ipad" she said "I love those films" he said.

Demi walked out too see Nathan talking to Gabrielle, she was showing him things on her ipad. She smiled a little, when she saw them laughing together. "Alright guys food is ready" Eddie yelled from the barbecue. Nathan and Gabrielle got up and walked over too the table, Gabrielle then grabbed Nathan's hand as they were walking over. Nathan sat next to Gabrielle, Demi on the other side.
Dianna looked over and she couldn't help but think, maybe just maybe Nathan was the one for her daughter, he had always been there for her, there was an instant connection between her grand daughter and Demi and Nathan kept looking at one another during the barbecue.

After the barbecue, Demi was helping to clear the plates in the kitchen. Nathan walked in to get another drink. Dianna walked out the room to get another tea towel. Nathan got up the courage to talk to Demi "So...I heard about you and Bomba, I'm really sorry" he said. Demi smiled a little at him "thanks Nath" she said "I honestly think he doesn't deserve you...He never has" Nathan said. Demi looked at him, smiling "Thanks Nath" she said "no worries" he said.

Over the following months, Demi started getting over Bomba she began hanging out more with her two brothers and Nathan. Nathan and Demi started getting closer and closer, they both started getting more feelings for one another. But neither of them said anything until.
NYE 2018
Demi walked into her brothers apartment , her parents had agreed to have Gabrielle for the night so she could go out and have fun. She spotted Nathan, speaking to Joe's fiance and her brother Nick. She smiled and walked over to them "Hey Dem" Sophie smiled before giving her a hug, "Hey sis" Nick said and Nathan smiled and put his arm round her shoulder bringing her into him. She returned the hug. Nathan was talking to Nick, and Sophie sent Demi a text. She read it.
Soph: Are you going to tell him tonight?
Demi just smiled at her and Sophie jokingly winked at her.
Demi and Nathan spent the night laughing and flirting with one, another but no one wanted to make the first move.
"5,4,3,2,1" everyone chanted.
Nathan thought this was his moment, he grabbed Demi by waist turned her round as the clock hit midnight. Demi returned the kiss.
And it was in that moment, she had found her escape, her escape from Bomba and her old life in Vegas.
