Nathan fixed his shirt in the mirror, he felt two arms wrap round his waist and a head on his back "hey baby" the voice said, he smiled and turned around. He saw his girlfriend looking up at him he then kissed her head softly "hey beautiful, you look amazing" he said before kissing her lips "thankyou baby, I love your shirt" she said, he smiled "thankyou gorgeous" he said before he took her hand and they left her apartment.

They walked through the paparazzi into Craigs Restaurant in Los Angeles. Demi let go of Nathan's hand as she saw Nick and Joe stand up as the couple walked over. Nathan followed his girlfriend to the brothers. Nick put his hand out and smiled at the curly haired man "hey man I'm Nick" he said "Hey mate, Nathan" he smiled, Nathan then smiled and introduced himself to Joe. Nathan sat next to Demi in the booth, he was a bit nervous as he knew Demi looked at Nick and Joe as older brothers. "So Nath, I heard your last song, fucking loved it man" Nick said "Thank you, that means a lot coming from you" he said "So how'd you guys meet?" Joe asked "Dude?!" Nick said. Nathan smiled and kissed Demi's cheek, "well it started when, I needed to find a last minute duet partner" he said

Nathan's manager walked into his hotel room "hey Nath, bad news! Ari can't make it to the VMA performance" Rachel said "fuckk. So what now?!" Nathan said, putting his hand through his hair "any ideas, on a replacement" he said "I can text Camilla, see if she's around?" Nathan suggested "Good idea. Let me know" she said. He nodded and sent her a text
N: Hey Cam, any chance your in Los Angeles for the VMA's Ari can't make it and i'm supposed to be dueting Over and Over again
C: Dude i'm so sorry i'm in Spain at the moment, I can ask around if any of my friends are interested. I know Demi Lovato is in town I can ask her?!
N: Ahh that's a shame! But yeah if she agrees , give her my number!
C: Okay dude! Talk to you later :)
Nathan sighed and put his phone down, now to wait.

Demi's phone buzzed in her bag, as she walked out of a meeting, she put her phone in her bag and grabbed it, she lit up the lock screen it was from her friend Camilla.
C: Hi girrll! Are you in L.A? I was wondering if you could do a favour for a good friend of mine!
D: Heyy dude! Yes I'm in L.A for a week! What can I do?!
C: He's performing one of his songs at the VMA's tomorrow and it's a duet and Ari has pulled out and he needs a replacement urgently!
D: Umm sure?! I'm going to the VMA's tomorrow, does he have a name? lol
C: Oh yeah, duhh his name's Nathan Sykes
D: Never heard of him....no offence
C: He was in the wanted?! He's so talented and such a sweetheart! Youtube him, he is awesome. Anyway his number is 389-0987-38475
Demi went on her phone and put his name into youtube and pressed on the first video. Wow he's really talented and kinda cute. She told her manager and he agreed that he was talented and it would be a good way to promote her new single. She smiled and texted him.
D: Hey, it's Demi Lovato! My friend Camilla told me you needed a duet partner for tomorrow, I'm free now if you want to meet and we can go over the song?!

Nathan's phone buzzed, it was from an unknown number he picked it up and read the message. His heart fluttered, he then smiled widely and replied to her
N: Oh hey Demi. Yeah i'm on 5th Avenue near the boulevard, gonna be here till around 8pm if you can make it?! Thankyou so much I know it's short notice but I'm sure it'll be great you've got a beautiful voice!
D: Thankyou so much! Sure I can be there in the next hour?!
N: Great, see you then!
Nathan got off his seat and went over to tell his manager Rachel. She let out a sigh of relief and said she'd meet Demi as he had to do a souncheck for a gig in the day tomorrow.

Demi pulled up to the venue, she got out the car with her manager and bodyguard. She saw a short blonde woman walk over to them "Hi, my name is Rachel i'm Nathan's manager" she smiled and shook their hands "Follow me, he's just finishing a soundcheck" she said as she ushered them into the building. Demi and her team walked into the theatre, they sat at the front and watched him perform the end of 'Famous'. Demi fell in love with his voice, she had no idea why he wasn't well known.

Nathan finished the end of the song and the lights came back up, he saw Demi. He suddenly became nervous, she was even more beautiful in person. He smiled and walked down the steps to meet Demi and her team, then everyone left the stage so the two could practice together. Nathan smiled at her "thankyou so much for this. I really appreciate it" he said "It's not a problem" she smiled as he handed her the sheet music, he sat at the piano.

The two practiced for an hour, before they had a break. Nathan took a sip of water, she looked at him "I have no idea why your not well known. Your voice is amazing dude!" she said "well thankyou! I guess it's cause when I was in the wanted we had a reputation and as much as I didn't want it to it's affected my solo stuff. Had you heard of the wanted?" he said "to be honest, not really but i heard through friends, you were a bunch of party boys who just didn't give a shit" she said.
Nathan nodded "yeah well...I guess we deserved it! I hated being in that band towards the end" he said, she then sat next to him on the stool "how come?" she asked "the label. After they said they wanted bloody walks like rihanna to be first release of the new album, I knew they had an idea of what they wanted the band to be... then the reality show came out which portrayed us as, well as you said a bunch of party boys who didn't give a shit! After that we fell apart as a band and as brothers. We then got dropped and here I am today" he said taking a sip of water "do you still talk to them?" she asked "kind of, Jay and Tom sometimes. Max not really and Seev I've had no contact with" he said, looking on the floor. She smiled a little and kissed his cheek "well I think your pretty awesome and talented" she said. He blushed a deep shade of red "thanks, Demi" he said, he then put his hand on his neck and rubbed it. "We should have another practice" she said "Yeah, sounds good" he said. They sang the song and looked in each other's eyes as they sang.

"so yeah the next night I got the balls to ask her out on a date and she said yes. We've been together ever since!" Nathan said, looking at his girl, she put her hand on his leg and smiled, before pecking his lips. "And i'm the luckiest girl in the world" Demi said beaming.
Nick and Joe smiled, they had known Demi since she was sixteen and had never seen her this content and happy. They knew after being in Nathan's presence he was an awesome guy and they wanted to be friends with him.
