Raquelle put on her dress and then finished straightening her hair. There was then a knock on the door, shit it was 8pm already. "Ashh please can you get that" she shouted down the stairs "On it" she said, with a tub of Ben and Jerry's in hand and a spoon in her mouth. She opened the door "Oh hey, Mr firefighter" she said, spinning the spoon in her hand. "Jay is just fine" he smiled "come in" she said "thank-you" he said and stepped into the hallway. Jay looked at the stairs, as Raquelle walked down them, he looked at her as she took his breath away. She looked beautiful in a red slim-fit dress and heels. He smiled at her, and she then walked over to him, he then gulped "you look beautiful" he smiled. She blushed, he smiled at her "You ready to go?" he asked "Yeah" she smiled, she grabbed her bag. "Ash we're going see you later" she said "Okay be home by 11, and no funny business James" she said "Yes ma'am" Jay said. "Okay sargent boring, you have fun with your ben and jerrys" she said "At the moment they are the only men I need in my life" Ashley laughed. Jay opened the door for Raquelle and they said goodbye to Ashley.
Jay and Ashley walked down to his truck, he opened the door for her. She got in. He closed the door and got in the driver's seat. He turned the engine on and began driving to the restaurant. "I uh like your car" she said, trying to make conversation "thank you, it was the first big thing I bought, it took me like three paychecks to pay for it" he said "How long have you worked as a firefighter?" she asked "around ten years now. Straight after school I joined the academy" he said. She nodded. She liked Jay, it was nice to go on a date with someone who wasn't in the showbiz industry, majority of the guys she met were record executives, producers or some kind of entertainment businessman.

Jay pulled up at the restaurant and parked the truck. He got out and ran over to Raquelles side, he opened the car door and helped her out. He then locked the car and they walked over to the restaurant. He then opened the door for her, and she thanked him, "I have a reservation for two, under Jay McGuiness" he said "Yes of course, please follow me" she smiled and she walked them to a table.
Jay pulled her seat out, once they got to the table. She sat down and he pushed it closer to the table. He then sat down opposite her. They looked at the drinks menu. They shared glances every now and again. A short man with brown gelled back hair walked over "can I take your drinks order?" he asked. Raquelle looked at Jay "no you first" he said "uh can I get a gin and tonic with a slice of lemon" she asked. He nodded and "and for you sir?" he asked "I'll just take a zero percent beer please" he said. The waiter nodded and walked away "you not drinking?" she asked "I'm sober" he said "oh god I'm so sorry and I ordered alcohol" she said "no it's fine. Don't worry. I'm fine with people drinking around me. I just don't wanna get involved with it myself" he said "I mean I'm all for it. Means I have a ride home every time" she blurted out "oh there will be a next time?" Jay asked raising an eyebrow. Raquelle blushed "sorry I" she said, Jay took her hand and interwined it "no it's cute....your really cute. Especially when you blush" he said with a smile.
She blushed and even deeper shade of red.
The waiter came back over with their drinks "are you ready to order?" he asked "no sorry I haven't even looked at the menu. Please can we have five more minutes" he asked "sure thing" the waiter smiled before walking away. Jay smiled at Raquelle and smiled before he looked at the menu. "I feel like you are a pro at first dates and you do this alot" she said pursing her lips. He looked and blushed "nooo definitely not. To be honest I haven't been on a date in like three years. It's pretty sad" he said "why so long? Your a nice cute guy" she asked. He blushed "well thanks but I was with a girl for like two years and then after that I just wanted to focus on my career and then I met you" he said "what about me?" she asked leaning closer "I'm being honest and i really don't say this to all girls but I needed to tell you, when I saw you that night, I just thought you were the most beautiful girl I had ever seen. So thankyou for coming on a date with me and giving me a chance" he said. She leaned in closer to him. Jay saw this as his opportunity to capture her lips. She returned the kiss. They then pulled away both blushing.
She looked at him "why wouldn't I give you a chance?" she asked "I dunno. Your you. A beautiful girl who is best friends with a major popstar and actress....you could get any guy you want. I'm just a firefighter who was in the right place at the right time" he said. She shook her head "Jay. You saved my best friends little sisters life. If anything I'm lucky that your here. You don't give yourself enough credit. And to be honest I've dated businessman and music producers and this is the best date I've ever been on" she said. He blushed as she intertwined their hand again.
Jay and Raquelle spent the rest of the date, laughing and chatting. They spent most of the time when they weren't eating with their hands interwined.
Jay pulled up in Raquelles driveway. He got out and opened the door for her and they walked hand in hand upto the driveway. "So see you next weekend?" he asked "yeah looking forward to it" she smiled. He leaned in and this time she encapatured his lips. He placed his hand on her cheek his other on her waist and hers on his chest. She pulled away and then he pecked her lips again. "Goodnight" she said, he then kissed her cheek before saying goodnight. He watched her walk in to the house before walking to his car.
Raquelle walked into the house, smiling. Ashley was standing there against the doorframe. "so??" she asked. "Ash he's amazing. I'm honestly so happy, we're seeing each other next weekend" she said "yes Raq!!" she cheered for her best friend.
Both Jay and Raquelle went to bed that night feeling the fire within burning for one another. Knowing that they had both found their person in one another.
