Jay walked on to the stage of the LA Dream Centre stage. He sat at the piano and looked around, he clocked his ex girlfriend. His heart broke all over again, just seeing her face again. Call him obsessed, desperate or both but getting this gig was the only way he could show her how much he wanted, not wanted but needed her.
Two Years Earlier.
Jay opened the door to his girlfriend standing there, he smiled and kissed her, in which she didn't really return it. "Can we talk?" she asked "yeah sure babe. What's wrong" he asked, she looked at him "I've been thinking about us...and I know we've said we'd go long distance but I'm gonna be on the road for so long with work it's not fair on you. I'm too career focused, it's just too hard to try. It hurts cause I know your the right one but at the wrong time" she said, tears streaming down her face. "Raq can we talk about this. Please I don't want to lose you" he said, trying to take her hand "I'm sorry Jay. I love you but I just can't. We're done" she said before walking out of his life.

Jay's heart broke and stayed broke for the next two years. He tried to reach out to her but she ignored him and didn't reply, or she would text him saying she was sorry but the timing was off. His friends said he should move on but he couldn't. He moved back home to Georgia for two years as his mum got cancer, he also thought the move would help him clear his mind. It didn't, he just got sadder. He didn't help it by watching re runs of Selena and Chef and My mind and me. Until one day he was back in Los Angeles, his mom now cancer free he decided he could move back. He got a call from his agent to say LA Dream center would like to book him as an act for their fundraiser. He knew she was involved with the charity and said yes, hoping she would be there.

Jay composed himself, he began to play the piano. He began to sing one percent, he looked at her whilst he sang. She put her chin on her hand leaning forward, listening to the lyrics. Her eyes began to fill with tears. He then went straight into another song about her "omg this is so weird. Doesn't he get the point that you're not interested" her friend said, before laughing. "I know talk about pathetic...right Raq" her other friend laughed "why are you being so horrible? Jay's the best dude she's ever been with. Raq you okay?" Ashley asked. "I gotta go" she said and walked out. Her friends followed her to make sure she was okay. Jay finished the song and saw her leave, he then ran after her.
"Raq can we talk" he asked, "dude she's not interested in you..can't you take a hint? Your pathetic she broke up with your two years ago" Raquelles friend Tally said. "Yeah dude like get a grip. She's moved on, she's dating someone else" her friend Jenny said "is that true?" Jay asked Raquelle "yeah it's true" Tally said cockily "is your name fucking Raquelle?!" Jay said pissed off. "Hey what's going on?" a man said approaching them in a tux and tie "oh Myles I'm so glad your here. Jay was just leaving" Tally said "yeah Jay....please go" Raquelle said, getting upset "oh honey bun" Myles said before turning to Jay "you need to leave or I will call security" he said. Jay put his hands up and walked away.
"Jay wait!" Ashley shouted behind him. He turned around "she's in shock. Just give her time" Ashley said "I'd wait forever for her" he said and then walked away with his hands in his pockets.
Jay lay awake that night, he so wanted to call Raquelle but he needed to listen to Ashley and give her space.

Raquelle lay awake in bed, trying to process the night that happened. She put on her robe and walked downstairs. She sat on the decking in one of the chairs, she picked up her phone and went through photos of her and Jay. She went to her contact list and called Jay.
He picked up, her heart skipped a beat. She missed him "hey" he said softly "hey I didn't wake you did I" she asked "no not at all" he said. "Can I see you?" she asked "yeah of course. When?" he asked "now. Meet me at our spot?" she said "I'm on my way" he said "bye Jay" she said "bye Elle. I uh....lo-, I'll see you in a bit" he said before putting the phone down. He smiled and got out of bed and drove to the beach they met on, all those years ago.
He sat on the sand, and waited for her.

Raquelle pulled up in her range rover, she got out and walked onto the beach. She saw Jay in the moonlight sat on the beach with a picnic blanket. She walked over and sat next to him, he smiled at her. That smile, made her melt. Her being here next to him was intoxicating. She was inlove with him, she got scared two years ago and she as worried she'd get rejected if she asked for another chance or that chance that he'd met someone else. He looked at her with those piercing blue eyes "I'm sorry if I humiliated you tonight. I didn't mean too" he said "you didn't....Tally and Jen are protective" she said "really? What makes you say that? he joked. She smiled and looked at the ocean.
He looked at her, he missed looking at her. Not in a creepy way, but he missed her. Just being sat next to her was healing his broken heart. But then he remembered she was dating someone new "so your dating again?" he asked hurt. She looked at him, she could see the hurt in his eyes. She wasn't dating Myles, as much as he and some of herr friends would like to believe that "slight over exaggeration by Tally there" she said "but he called you honey bun?" Jay said trying not to laugh "I knew you'd pick up on that. Oh my god" she laughed. He looked at her "but we we've been out twice and once was tonight. He thinks we're something and we're not. Have you dated anyone since" she asked "I mean I've been out a few times. I went back to Georgia for a bit" he said. He looked at the ocean "my ma got a cancer diagnosis just after we separated" he said "oh my god Jay I'm so sorry" Raquelle said sympathetically. "She's fine now though, thank god. But yeah she had to have chemo and I couldn't just leave my dad to do it on his own...I went on a few dates with a few different girls" he said "alright player" Raquelle teased. Jay laughed "hardly...but I didn't ever want a second date" he said, he then took a deep breath "cause none of them were you" he said.
"Myles and I aren't a thing. We never were...Tally set me up with him a while back and to be honest I'd been cancelling on him for a second date until tonight when we were both attending so I couldn't back out" she said. "He seems like a uh....decent guy" he said. Raquelle shrugged "he would be a great boyfriend for another girl but not for me. Because I already found my person...but I threw it away for my pride and ego" she said. "I'm here now....I mean if it's me your talking about if not I just made an ass out of myself" he said, slightly awkward. She looked in his eyes "it is you" she said.
He smiled and stared at the ocean. "Do I have to ask you too kiss me or..." she joked. He looked at her "don't have to ask me twice" he said and leant in. He kissed her softly, she deepened it, as so did he. He lay down softly on the sand as he continued to kiss her, he pulled away, with his hand on her outer thigh "I really hope this isn't a dream and I'm gonna wake up in my childhood bedroom in Georgia" he laughed. "I'm here. I'm real" she said before kissing him again.
She then got up and sat in-between his legs, his arms wrapped around her waist tightly, not ever wanting to let go and they watched the sun rise over L.A "I missed you" he whispered in her ear, she leant into him "I missed you too" she whispered and he kissed her cheek softly. "I love you" she said looking into his eyes, he smiled "I love you too" he said before kissing her softly again.
She finally felt happy, her heart was healing. She didn't realise that she walked away from the one until it was too late, she had missed everything about this man. She knew now he was her forever.
