The Fire Within Part 1

Selena put her younger sister to bed. She closed the door over and went downstairs. She poured a glass of wine and sat down with Benny on the sofa. He kissed the top of her head. Raquelle and Ashley were chatting to one another. That night Selena and Benny had made dinner for Gracie her younger sister and two of her best friends. Gracie had gone to sleep. So all to do now was enjoy the rest of the night with her boyfriend and friends.

Selena woke in the middle of the night, the fire alarm was going off. Benny burst into the room "we need to get out now!" he said, before grabbing her hand, giving her a gown. She put it on and they ran out. Selena saw the smoke coming from the kitchen, grabbing the dogs on her way out. Benny ran out with Selena and saw Ashley and Raquelle looking worried as the watched the house. They had already rang and ambulance. "Where's Gracie?!" Selena asked worriedly. The left side of the house then burst into flames. Selena screamed.

Jay sat eating dinner with his colleagues, tonight was his favourite night. Spaghetti and meatballs made by Maisie, Max's fiancé as Max couldn't cook. The alarm bell then went off with the automated voice saying there was a house fire in Beverley Hills. The crew then ran to the fire trucks and Jay got in with Max and Nathan.

The fire trucks speeded down the driveway. They jumped off the truck and the captain walked over as he was first on scene. "We have one minor in the property we believe on the left hand side of the property." Captain Jameson said. Jay got his helmet on and ran into the building. No fear. "Hello?!" he shouted as he ran up the stairs. He heard a young girl shouting help, he kicked the door down and saw a terrified young girl in her bed crying. He walked over to her "hi sweetheart, my name's Jay. I'm gonna get you out of here alright?! I'm gonna pick you up and we're gonna get you out " he said. She nodded quickly, he put an oxygen mask on her. He lifted her up "hold tight okay?" he said. She nodded and ran out. He saw the flames getting higher and burning quicker. The escape route he had in mind was now inflamed. He said into the walkie talkie "the escape route I had in mind is inflamed. Gonna have to figure out another one..I've got the little girl" he said. Jay then took his jacket off, and placed it over Gracie covering her from the fire.

A couple then ran up the driveway. The woman hugged Selena who was in distress and crying "What happened?! she asked worriedly. "We woke and the house was on fire. Gracie is still in there, a firefighter has gone in to get her" Selena said. "Oh my god" Selena's mum Mandy said.

Jay held tightly onto Gracie "we're gonna be alright. Don't worry" he said "I want my mommy" Gracie cried "and I'm gonna get you to her alright. I've got you" he said as he placed his hand on her head protecting her head, his other arm underneath her legs. He then saw an opening and kicked the door down.

Selena and her parents alongside Benny and her friends stood there worried, worried that Gracie wouldnt be okay. Suddenly they saw a tall figure run out of the burning building with a jacket over something in his arms. He took the jacket off, it was Gracie. He placed her on the ground, as Max and Siva ran over to perform checks on the young girl. Jay knelt beside her "I told you I'd get you out. Just breathe into that mask for me" he said as Max gave her a new oxygen mask. Mandy then ran over "oh my gody baby" she cried as she knelt down next to Gracie "mommy" she cried as she took the mask off. Mandy hugged her tightly. An ambulance then came up the driveway and the paramedics got out. They rushed over to Gracie, Jay looked at Gracie, as she looked scared "their just gonna do some checks on you..to make sure your alright" Jay smiled. Gracie nodded, she trusted Jay.

The paramedics introduced themselves to Gracie. Captain Jameson then walked over to Jay as he stood up "you alright son? You did a good job lieutenant" he said. Jay nodded "Thanks Captain" he said. Jay was then engulfed in a hug. "Thank you for saving my baby. You are an angel from heaven!" Mandy cried in his arms. "Your welcome" he smiled as he returned the hug.

Raquelle watched the firefighter who saved Gracie. He was gorgeous, six foot, curly brown hair, arms of a greek god. "Are you gonna talk to him or just salivate" Ashley asked as she folded her arms. Selena and Benny then walked over "what's going on?" Selena asked "Raq is in love with the firefighter" Ashley said "No I'm not" Raq said blushing as she saw Jay walking over to the aid car, to get checked out. "Go and talk to him" Selena said "And say??" She said "thanks for saving my friends sisters life, you're the most beautiful man I've ever seen can I climb you like a tree?" Selena joked. "Not helping" Raquelle said before she walked over to the aid car.

Raquelle smiled, as she got to the aid car. Damn this guy was handsome. She got butterflies in her stomach..He smiled at her "hi" he said "hey I just wanted to say thankyou so much for saving Selena's sister" she said "absolutely no problem" he smiled. She took a deep breath "this is gonna sound really weird and I'm sorry if it comes off too strong....but I think your really cute. Would you like to go out sometime? If you're single obviously" she asked. Jay looked at her surprised.

She was a stunning girl and he loved that she took charge and went after him. He smiled he couldn't believe for a second that this beautiful girl was asking him out. He got butterflies in his stomach. He nodded "yeah okay let's do it" he said. She then gave him his phone "put your number in and I'll text you?" she asked "yeah okay" he said putting his number in. "I'm Raquelle" she said "Jay" he smiled and he shook her hand. Raquelle then saw Brian, Selena's step father then walked over to the aid car. She smiled, he smiled back. She then kissed his cheek and walked away, her body swaying. Jay couldn't help but stare at her.
