Me, Diego, Luther and Allison laid down on what looked like a gurney but more complicated. There were straps for our wrists, ankles and waist and a place for us to put our heads in so we couldn't move. It was already creepy just by itself, and we hadn't even started the "experiment" yet. The blue lights of the room made it hard to see, but the others were standing in front of us and attentively watching.
_"Just lean back and relax, Luther."-Reginald told my brother as he finished strapping him to the chair. It was a bit hard to relax in that situation.
_"Yeah, right."
_"Do we all have to do this? Can't you just do it to one of us?"-Allison asked. She looked a bit apprehensive.
_"Fragments of your original memories are still locked away in your minds. They are all integral pieces of a bigger puzzle."-...I guess that was a no.
Reginald helped Allison, and started to walk towards Diego, but he was interrupted by Viktor who stepped forward.
_"Uh...I wanna be connected too."-I furrowed my brows with his request, deciding to question it.
_"But you weren't on the mission. Are you sure you want to?"
_"I wasn't on the team then, but I am now, and I wanna know the truth as much as you do."
_"Excellent. Please take a seat."-Well, if it was possible, then it was fine. Viktor walked to lay on one of the gurneys.
_"How about you?"-Reginald turned to Lila. She seemed surprised by that.
_"Yeah, I think I'm going to spectate."
_"Ditto. No offense, but I'm not letting you near my gray matter. And you shouldn't either."-Five looked at me, and I just shrugged. It was risky to do it, especially knowing Reginald's questionable habits, but the thought of something missing in my mind really bothered me.
_"Very well. Perhaps you could help."-Reginald said, Lila approached Diego to help him with the straps, Five doing the same but with me. I looked up at him.
_"If I die, take care of the shop."-I joked, but if it did happen it was something I would want.
_"You're not dying, and business management is not my line of work."-He tightened the leather around my waist. The material was really uncomfortable.
_"You're denying my last wish?"
_"You're being morbidly dramatic."-He finished with the straps, and let out a sigh while looking down at me.
_"However, there is still time to change your mind."-Five suggested, and I lightly smiled at him.
_"I want to know. And you heard what dad said, we need every piece of memory we can get."-The boy, while hearing me, grabbed the rubber mouth gag that was supposed to go in my mouth. I think it was made so we wouldn't bite our tongues, which usually meant the process would be painful. How "exciting".
_"Spit this out and scream as loud as you can if you feel something's wrong. Got it?"-He instructed, raising a brow at me and waiting for a response. I nodded.
_"Good. Open up."-As he asked, I opened my mouth, and bit into the rubber. Five got up, and slowly distanced himself.
Lila also distanced herself from Diego, but weirdly, he started to loudly complain. We couldn't tell what he was saying because of the mouth gag, but he was definitely really upset. We didn't have the time to question it. The lights in the room turned red and an alarm started to resonate. I took a deep breath.
_"Wait! Is this gonna hurt?"-Luther shouted, a bit muffled by the rubber in his mouth.
_"Indubitably."-Reginald answered. I already presumed that but hearing a confirmation made me more nervous.
