At Hogwarts, Minerva was tired of scaring away owls from furious parents due to Rita Skeeter's article. She couldn't decide what actions to take and would have to wait for Albus to do so. She knew that Snape would be against expulsion; she just needed Albus to make the decision.

At Grimmauld Place, Dumbledore was irritated with Sirius for sending secret information to Rita Skeeter.

Dumbledore: Don't try to deny it, Sirius. I know it was you.

Sirius: Yes, I did it. Everyone should know who he really is.

Dumbledore: But that wasn't the right way to act.

Sirius: You don't understand; that boy is a danger. We don't know what his intentions are. Once he defeats Voldemort, he'll be the next Dark Lord.

Dumbledore fell silent.

Sirius: All the Slytherins have submitted to him. Can't you see? All the Slytherins.

Dumbledore: Sirius, you've ruined everything. How am I supposed to convince him to join us now? He's more likely to suspect that I had something to do with this. He thought.

Snape: You're an idiot, Black. All you've done is expose that there's another group against him besides the Death Eaters.

Sirius was about to respond when a letter arrived and landed in Dumbledore's hands.

Dumbledore: I need to go...

Sirius: What's happening, Professor?

Dumbledore: A trial is about to begin at the Wizengamot against Sasuke Uchiha. As headmaster and a member of the Wizengamot, I need to go now.

Everyone present overheard the discussion, but no one said anything.

Dumbledore disappeared to go to the Ministry, followed by Snape.

Sasuke descended into the Wizengamot chambers, escorted by two Magical Law Enforcement squads. As he looked around, he noticed the dark stone walls, with torches providing barely any light. There were empty benches on both sides, but ahead, in the higher seats, several figures lingered in the shadows. They whispered among themselves, but when the heavy door closed behind Sasuke, a profound silence fell.

A cold male voice echoed in the courtroom:

Voice: Take a seat.

Sasuke walked to the chair in front of him, and the chains came to life, binding him. He sighed and allowed the Chidori's current to envelop his hands, instantly destroying the chains.

Sasuke: The chains are bothersome. Let's get this over with quickly; I don't have time for distractions.

Umbridge: How dare you disrespect the Wizengamot court, Mr. Uchiha?

Tiberius Ogden: Mr. Uchiha, I order you to show respect.

Murmurs of discontent were audible. Sasuke read the lips of those murmuring and realized they were saying "bloody Muggle."

Tiberius Ogden: With the accused present, we can begin. Are you ready?

Percy: Yes, sir — he replied eagerly. Percy had his eyes glued to his parchment, quill poised in hand.

Tiberius Ogden: Today, August 12th, Mr. Uchiha is accused of murdering 100 wizards.

Tiberius Ogden: Tiberius Ogden, head of the Wizengamot; Pius Thicknesse, head of the Department of Magical Security; court scribe, Percy Ignatius Weasley.
