It had been a week since Sasuke had ventured into the depths of the forest. Checking the date, he recalled the important meeting he had with General Mack to discuss strategy. Upon arriving at the military base, Sasuke greeted the soldiers and headed straight to the General's office.
General Mack: You're early, Mr. Uchiha.
Sasuke: I want to resolve this as soon as possible.
General Mack: We still need to wait for Minister Trouxa, Minister Bones, and Scrimgeour, who is on his way supervising the training of the wizards.
Sasuke: Understood.
General Mack: How about a game of chess while we wait?
Sasuke: Sure, let's play.
General Mack retrieved a wooden chess set and the corresponding board.
General Mack: Do you prefer the white or black pieces?
Sasuke: Black.
General Mack: Then I'll take the white pieces.
They arranged the pieces on the board and began to play.
General Mack: Since I have the white pieces, I'll start with a pawn.
The chess was not magical, so they moved the pieces by hand. After an hour of play, the other meeting participants had arrived but remained silent, observing the game. Sasuke moved his bishop, capturing a knight.
Murmurs began to circulate among the others.
Amelia: Mr. Uchiha is going to win.
Minister Trouxa: I doubt that. General Mack is unbeatable in chess tournaments.
Scrimgeour: Sasuke made him retreat.
Minister Trouxa: Not yet. Look, the General just moved his rook.
Sasuke: I didn't expect you to be able to neutralize my attack.
The game continued, with both players losing pieces until only a few pawns and the kings remained, facing each other.
General Mack: It seems we have a draw.
Sasuke: Yes.
Scrimgeour: How so?
Minister Trouxa: With the few pieces left and their current positions, we can only have a threefold repetition. If the same position occurs three times, or if it occurs after the next move, the game ends in a draw. This prevents the game from dragging on indefinitely.
General Mack: Well, since everyone has arrived, I think it's time we start the meeting.
Minister Trouxa: As you know, evacuating a city takes time. We need the wizards' help to cast anti-Muggle spells around the area, just like they did during the Quidditch tournament.
Amelia: Don't worry. I have a team ready for that.
Sasuke: We also need anti-apparition spells.
Scrimgeour: We can cast those, but the coverage area is limited.
General Mack: Scrimgeour, help me map this out.
Both opened a map.
General Mack: Outline the area where the spell will be cast.
Minister Trouxa: We need to justify and repair the damages.
Amelia: As for the damages, magic can repair everything.
Sasuke: And what about weapons?
General Mack: We're well-armed; the technicians managed to get the missile launchers and helicopters working, but we're still having issues with the fighter planes.
Scrimgeour: I'm done. This is the area that the spell will cover.
General Mack used a marker to divide the map into sectors, like a chessboard.
General Mack: This way, we can better distribute our forces. But communication is still a problem. We need more two-way mirrors to monitor the city in real-time.
Amelia: Understood. I'll talk to the alchemists and confirm the number of mirrors by owl.
General Mack: Perfect. I'll handle the distribution.
Meanwhile, Sasuke was reviewing the results of the wizards on a board.
Sasuke: I think we can divide our forces into close combat, ranged, and air squadrons.
General Mack: I agree. We'll also need invisibility cloaks.
Amelia: I'll let you know how many we can provide soon.
Sasuke: Minister, inform the alchemists that we need amulets to reinforce the anti-Muggle spell.
General Mack: Who will handle the ammunition supply? I can't pull soldiers from the front lines.
Scrimgeour: The elves will take care of that.
Sasuke: Each squadron should have at least five wizards who can conjure corporeal Patronuses. We don't know how the Dementors will divide themselves.
Minister Trouxa: The uniforms are ready, with shield spells embedded. We've been preparing all year.
General Mack: We need each squadron to have at least four people with medical knowledge: two healers and two doctors.
Scrimgeour: We can't use the healers or doctors, but we can train them quickly. As for the kits, they will be stocked with potions and Muggle medicine.
Sasuke: We still need to choose who will be in these squadrons.
Everyone sighed, thinking about how to divide the personnel.
General Mack: Not yet. I want to get to know the soldiers better before choosing the squad leaders.
The meeting concluded, and everyone headed to the cafeteria, where the soldiers were gathered.
Sasuke: I'll be leaving. I'll be back for the next meeting.
Sasuke vanished while the others continued walking.
In the cafeteria, Tonks was trying to convince her friends to get their wands and use owls to communicate with their families.
Tonks: We need our wands to defend ourselves if our homes are attacked, and we need to talk to our families.
Wizard: You're right.
Wizard: We're volunteers. We need to know how our families are doing. I have no idea how my wife and kids are.
Tonks: We need to protest or refuse to keep training.
Tonks: Come on, support me. I need to inform the Order. — she thought.
A voice came from behind, making everyone turn around.
Scrimgeour: Well said, Nymphadora. Are you trying to start a rebellion? I could consider you a spy and send you to Azkaban.
Tonks paled at the thought of being imprisoned.
Scrimgeour: Just kidding. I know you're worried about your families, which is why we brought some solutions to ease your minds.
Amelia: Follow me.
All the wizards stood up and followed the Minister to a room where several people were monitoring mirrors.
Williamson: The images... this is London. How is that possible?
Scrimgeour: These are two-way mirrors. We're monitoring most cities in real-time.
Miller: So that's how you knew about the Death Eater and Dementor attacks.
Jones: Why didn't you tell us about this?
Amelia: We suspected traitors and sympathizers. We couldn't risk leaks. But with the war looming, there haven't been any more attacks in England.
General Mack: As for communication with your families, we will soon install phones in the auditorium so you can talk to them. In the meantime, we're sending teams to your homes to train you on how to use the phones.
