Christmas I

The seven were gathered in the Room of Requirement.

Sasuke: It's time to draw the rune.

Luna: Sasuke, you mentioned that the rune will be fueled by our magic, right?

Sasuke: Yes.

Daphne: Wouldn't it be better to place it on an extremity, like the hand?

Gina: That would simplify the process since we would only need to direct our magic to that point. And since it will be invisible, there shouldn't be any issues.

Sasuke: I agree; I don't see any drawbacks.

With his right hand, Sasuke began drawing symbols in the air. With each second, his speed increased until the symbols merged into a golden diamond.

Sasuke: Zacharias, extend your hand.

Zacharias: Okay.

Zacharias and the others felt nervous, fearing it might hurt when the rune approached his palm. Instinctively, he closed his eyes. After a few seconds, he opened them again.

Zacharias: What happened?

Draco: It's done.

Zacharias: It didn't hurt, and I don't feel any different.

Sasuke: That's because the rune is programmed not to absorb your magic until you provide it.

Zacharias: So, are you going to teach me how to provide magic?

Sasuke: Not yet. We'll wait three days to see if there are any adverse reactions.

Zacharias: Adverse reactions? Could something go wrong?

Sasuke: I don't know. We'll meet again in three days.

Sasuke left the Room of Requirement.

Draco: We're counting on you.

Daphne: Thank you for volunteering.

Astoria and Gina: Yes, that was very brave of you.

Zacharias: It wasn't really like that, and you know it.

Luna: Nothing will happen to you; he just said that to scare you.

Zacharias: Thanks, Luna.

Luna: Besides, if anything goes wrong, we have Madam Pomfrey, or Sasuke can remove the rune.

Zacharias: Once again, thank you, Luna.

In the corridors near the Great Hall:

Draco: Any problems?

Zacharias: No, fortunately, nothing happened.

The others sighed in relief, knowing they wouldn't face issues when it was their turn.

Luna: See? I told you nothing would happen.

Zacharias: Yes, you were right.

Astoria: Let's inform Sasuke.

Upon entering the Great Hall, they saw Professor Slughorn talking to Sasuke, which took them by surprise. They decided to approach.

Slughorn: Mr. Uchiha, will you be staying at the castle during Christmas?

Sasuke: Why do you want to know?

Slughorn: Since your head of house isn't present, it's my duty to organize the list of students who will remain.
