Minutes earlier, near the castle...
The six Death Eaters and six werewolves were already strategically positioned.
Snyde raised his wand toward the sky and gave the signal to begin the attack.

The Dark Mark appeared above Hogwarts Castle, marking the start of the assault.
The Death Eaters, eagerly, pointed their wands at the plants Hagrid had transplanted:
Death Eaters: "FINITE," "FINITE," "FINITE," "FINITE," "FINITE," "FINITE."
The plants transformed into corpses that began moving toward the castle—they were Inferi, 80 in total, controlled by the Death Eaters.

Meanwhile, several students were making their way from their houses to the Great Hall, walking casually from various parts of the castle.
The Ravenclaw students came from the west side, on the seventh floor.
The Slytherins, from the dungeons, beneath the Black Lake.
The Hufflepuffs, from the basement, behind a stack of barrels near the kitchens.
The Gryffindors, from the east side, also on the seventh floor.
Some were talking about what the house-elves might be preparing for dinner, others about their professors' assignments, and still others chatting about gossip from "Witch Weekly." Some students walked silently, mentally reviewing spells from that day's classes.
But everything changed when the werewolves' howls echoed nearby, drawing the attention of the closest students.
Cries began to spread:
"WEREWOLVES!" "DEATH EATERS!" "INFERI!"
Panic broke out. Some students ran while others drew their wands, ready to fight.
Dean: FIRST YEARS, ALERT THE TEACHERS AND SEEK SHELTER!
Seamus: DUMBLEDORE'S ARMY, IT'S TIME TO DEFEND HOGWARTS!
In the paths of Hufflepuff, Ravenclaw, and Gryffindor, the younger students ran to safety while the older ones prepared for battle.
In the Slytherin path, however, the younger students hurried back to the common room, while the seniors—Crabbe, Goyle, Nott, Warrington, and Zabini—decided to stay.
Crabbe: They're here on orders from the Dark Lord.
Goyle: Let's help them!
Suddenly, one of the Death Eaters raised his wand.
Death Eater 1: AVADA KEDAVRA!
Crabbe fell dead to the floor, leaving everyone in shock.
Goyle: Why?
Death Eater 1: You sealed your fates by failing to recruit more students for the Dark Lord.
Nott: IT WASN'T OUR FAULT! IT WAS UCHIHA'S!
Warrington: OUR PARENTS WON'T STAY SILENT!
Death Eater 1: They'll be grateful we rid them of their useless offspring.
With a gesture, he turned to the werewolf.
Death Eater 1: Kill them all. We don't want any survivors.
The werewolf lunged, tearing Nott's throat with a savage bite. The others were paralyzed with fear as the creature tore them apart, leaving the corridor drenched in blood.
Death Eater 1: Advance.
With the werewolf and the Inferi beside him, the Death Eater proceeded through the castle, the werewolves' howls echoing as they drew closer to the students, who now fled in terror.

The students were casting desperate spells:
"STUPEFY!" "PETRIFICUS TOTALUS!" "JINX!" "DEPULSO!" "INCARCEROUS!" "RICTUSEMPRA!"
But the spells had no effect on the werewolves. When one of the creatures approached a student, the student waved his wand frantically, shouting:
Student: IMPEDIMENTA!
The werewolf ignored the spell and, with a vicious swipe, sliced the student in half, spreading panic among those trying to fight.
Seizing the opportunity, the Death Eater began casting deadly curses.
Death Eater: AVADA KEDAVRA! AVADA KEDAVRA! AVADA KEDAVRA!
Bodies fell all around, slain by the Killing Curse or torn apart by the werewolf.
The Hufflepuff ghost, witnessing the carnage, quickly went to warn the professors.
Thirty minutes later...
In the Gryffindor group, only Dean and Seamus remained alive.
The other six students had been killed by the werewolf or the Death Eater.
Surrounded by the werewolf and the Death Eater in front, and the Inferi behind, Seamus pointed his wand.
Seamus: SECTUMSEMPRA!
Cuts appeared on the Inferi, but they kept advancing. Dean, meanwhile, focused on the werewolf.
Dean: SECTUMSEMPRA!
The Death Eater took cover behind the werewolf and cast a spell.
Death Eater: CRUCIO!
While the werewolf ignored the wounds, Dean fell to the ground, writhing in pain.
His wand slipped from his grasp.
As he reached for it, he found himself face-to-face with the werewolf.
Dean: M...
Before he could finish, the werewolf bit off his arm, causing Dean to scream in unbearable agony.
Seamus, consumed by rage, cast desperate spells, but nothing worked. In the end, he charged forward, attempting to punch the werewolf.
The creature swiped him back, opening a deep wound across his chest.
Just as the Death Eater prepared to finish off Seamus, a barrage of spells interrupted the attack.
Zacharias, Draco, and Ginny arrived.
Zacharias: Now I see why the screams stopped.
All around, only corpses lay. Draco gave instructions:
Draco: Ginny, get Finnegan out of here.
Ginny: NO WAY! I'M FIGHTING!
Zacharias: HE'S STILL ALIVE, TAKE HIM NOW!
Ginny: Don't die, I'll be back soon.
With a swift movement, Ginny conjured bandages to staunch Seamus's bleeding and levitated him to the infirmary.
Death Eater: You think you can do whatever you want, blood traitors! Attack them!
The werewolf lunged, but Zacharias activated his runes and kicked at the creature's outstretched arm, matching its strength.
Death Eater: AVADA KEDAVRA!
Draco struck his wand to the floor, conjuring a stone block that intercepted the Killing Curse.
Draco: You're fighting me.
Death Eater: Lucius would roll in his grave knowing his son sided with blood traitors!
Draco: You gonna talk or fight?
