The End of an Era III

In the Headmaster's Office, Hours Earlier.

Dumbledore held his old wand in his left hand—the very wand he had used to duel Gellert Grindelwald.

He began to draw intricate patterns on the floor of the office, while the portraits of former headmasters observed the scene with curiosity, until one of them dared to speak up:

Armando Dippet (Headmaster): What are you doing, Albus?

Dumbledore: Something to confront Sasuke Uchiha.

Vindictus Viridian (Headmaster): It's an interesting magic circle, but the source of power you intend to use is...

Dumbledore: Yes, I got the idea from Severus.

Phineas Black (Headmaster): Are you planning to kill him, or do you intend to become a martyr?

Dexter Fortescue (Headmaster): You can't do this, Albus. As headmasters of Hogwarts...

Dumbledore: I do this for the good of the wizarding world. So, using my authority as headmaster, I command you all to be silent and sleep.

All the portraits of the headmasters closed their eyes and fell silent.

Dumbledore repeated to himself, "For the greater good! For the greater good! For the greater good!"

Thanks to the magical circle, combined with his Legilimency, Dumbledore managed to penetrate Sasuke's mental defenses.

He paused when he found himself in a forest, a section devoid of trees, only grass. However, what caught his attention most were three wooden stumps fixed into the ground.

Dumbledore: What landscape is this?

He waved his wand, casting several detection spells, but found no traps.

Determined to explore the area, he took a few steps when a voice called out to him from behind.

Sasuke: Are you leaving so soon?

Dumbledore quickly turned to see Sasuke perched on one of the stumps.

Sasuke: You really surprised me. I didn't expect you to use a magical circle, especially one beneath my feet. In fact, I let my guard down. So, what's your purpose?

Dumbledore: I need to know who you really are.

Sasuke: You're lying. I noticed you weren't pleased that I defeated Voldemort; it ruined your plans, didn't it? They say you love being the mastermind, controlling every detail.

Dumbledore: You're correct; it did ruin the plans, but you don't grasp the depth of the situation.

Sasuke: Then explain.

Dumbledore: The fact that you defeated Voldemort and made Muggle weapons work changes everything. You have no idea what consequences this has triggered. That's why I need to understand your intentions.

Sasuke: Your concern stems from the fact that I wasn't the Chosen One to end him.

Dumbledore stared at him for a moment before deciding to speak.

Dumbledore: It was expected that Harry would defeat Voldemort, as he symbolizes the union of a pure-blood and a Muggle-born.

Sasuke: A half-blood.

Dumbledore: Yes, a half-blood. Harry would symbolize that our unity makes us stronger, bringing new light to the wizarding world and reducing blood status discrimination.
