The Christmas holidays had come to an end, and all the students gathered in the Great Hall for dinner.

Most were excitedly chatting about the tournament that would begin the next day.

Other conversations revolved around the return of Professor Snape, and the Slytherin students were especially pleased to see their Head of House back.

At the Gryffindor table, Harry, Ron, and Hermione were sitting in a corner. Harry moved his wand and whispered a spell.

Harry: Muffliato.

Ron: What do you think Snape's mission for the Order was?

Harry: No idea.

Ron: Did Professor Dumbledore tell you anything?

Harry: Nothing. I don't understand why, since we're supposed to be members of the Order of the Phoenix too.

Hermione: It must be a secret mission that only Professor Dumbledore knows about.

Harry: Even so, we should know something. Otherwise, we won't know what Snape is up to.

Hermione: Harry.

Harry: I already know what you're going to say: that Professor Dumbledore trusts Snape.

Ron: But so far, we've seen no proof that he's really on our side.

Hermione: If you want proof, ask Professor Dumbledore.

Harry and Ron didn't argue further, knowing that Professor Dumbledore wouldn't reveal anything to them.

An hour later...

All the plates vanished, and Professor Dumbledore approached the podium.

Dumbledore: Good evening, students. I know you're all excited about the tournament that will take place tomorrow, so I must remind you that only registered spells, pre-approved by the tournament judge, your Heads of House, and the Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher, will be allowed. Any unauthorized spell will result in immediate disqualification.

Dumbledore: So, sleep well, because tomorrow we will hold the drawing for the duels.

All the students stood up from their tables, and as they moved, the only topic of conversation was the next day's tournament.

In the Slytherin common room:

Astoria: Sasuke, how do you think we'll be paired?

Sasuke: It doesn't matter who I face. As for the rest of you, don't hold back.

Daphne and Draco: We won't.

In one corner of the common room, several students were discussing the tournament.

Nott: Did you sign up?

Crabbe: I'm not crazy.

Goyle: Me neither.

Pansy: Same here. I pity the students from other houses who have to face Sasuke.

Selwyn: I signed up. Remember they'll award up to 5th place? I just need to make it to fifth, because first place will be Sasuke's. Besides, think about it, the victory will be Slytherin's.

Pansy: You're right. Dumbledore won't be able to change the results like he did in the first year.

The next day, all the students were led to the Quidditch field, where they found eight circular platforms, each 10 meters in diameter.

Ginny: Why did they set this up on the Quidditch field?

Astoria: Isn't it obvious? It's the biggest space for the tournament, plus we can use the stands to watch.
