The End of an Era IV

In the corridors of the castle, Professor McGonagall, Professor Slughorn, and Alastor Moody were heading to Albus's office when something caught their attention as they reached the stairs.

Moody: What's going on? Why aren't the stairs moving?

Minerva: I don't know; this has never happened at Hogwarts.

Slughorn: We need to hurry. I have a bad feeling about this.

Determined, the three of them used their wands to conjure steps in the missing sections and continued ascending.

When they arrived at the corridor leading to Albus's office, they were surprised to find the four ghosts representing each of Hogwarts' houses in the middle of the path: Nearly Headless Nick, the Fat Friar, the Grey Lady, and the Bloody Baron.

Minerva: Do you know what's happening?

Grey Lady: The headmaster is using some of the castle's magic.

Slughorn: But why?

Nearly Headless Nick: We don't know.

Bloody Baron: We have an idea, but we hope we're wrong.

Moody: What's your idea?

Grey Lady: The headmaster is facing someone who threatens the safety of Hogwarts.

Moody: Someone who threatens Hogwarts? That doesn't make sense; Voldemort is dead.

Fat Friar: That's why we're saying it's just an idea.

Minerva: We don't have time for this. Let's go to the office.

The three of them moved forward until they reached the gargoyle blocking their way.

Minerva: Lemon sherbet.

But the statue didn't move.

Minerva: Lemon sherbet, lemon sherbet, lemon sherbet.

Slughorn: Minerva, are you sure that's the password?

Minerva: Horace, that is the password.

Moody: What does that mean?

Inside Sasuke's Mind:

Sasuke: I think it's time to return the favor.

Sasuke releases the cursed seal transformation and returns to his human form.

He begins to draw a circle on the ground with various symbols, placing Dumbledore at its center.

Dumbledore couldn't imagine what Sasuke was planning next, but he recognized the characters on the ground as Japanese, so he decided to buy time to recover, knowing that Sasuke had only damaged his spiritual form, not his physical one.

Dumbledore: "Sharingan"? What is that? I've never heard of it.

Sasuke ignores him and continues drawing symbols on the ground.

Dumbledore recalls the last prophecy: The prophecy has changed. The fate of the Boy Who Lived, who was once destined to defeat the Dark Lord, will now become the fate of the other boy who survived. Soon, a great war between light and darkness will unfold to decide the future of two worlds. The last descendant of a powerful lineage will confront the Dark Lord, and from the ashes of this war, a new era will arise. He assumed this prophecy referred to Neville, unless the Chosen One had always been before him, and he had never realized it.

Dumbledore: Sasuke, are your parents still alive?

Sasuke continues to ignore him while he persists with the symbols on the ground.
