All the Hufflepuffs cheered for Zacharias, just as Gryffindor rallied behind Ginny.

The other houses watched the duel intently.

Ginny paused her attacks upon noticing how easily Zacharias dodged them.

In her mind, she recalled Sasuke's advice: standing still would make her an easy target. Determined not to be caught off guard, Ginny also started running across the platform, keeping close to Zacharias.

Just as she was about to reach him, she prepared her wand to cast a spell. But suddenly, a large rock rose in front of her.

Moments earlier...

Zacharias, aware that Ginny was following him, smirked and, with a silent spell, conjured a rock at least two meters high to rise just in time to block her path as she approached.

Ginny stopped abruptly to avoid colliding with the rock, but was immediately struck by several spells, which threw her backward.

The stands erupted in applause for Zacharias, who had set a trap for Weasley, blocking her movements and attacking her from atop the conjured rock.

Ron: GINNY, YOU CAN DO IT!

Colin: WIN IT FOR GRYFFINDOR!

Harry: COME ON, GINNY!

As Gryffindor clapped and encouraged her, Ginny struggled to her feet.

Zacharias: STUPEFY!

Ginny threw herself to the ground, dodging the spell, and countered:

Ginny: PETRIFICUS TOTALUS!

Zacharias easily dodged.

Ginny waited for the right moment when he'd cast another spell, then silently prepared her trap.

Zacharias: CENTAS!

Their spells narrowly missed each other.

Zacharias was thrown backward by Ginny's spell.

Meanwhile, she was quickly immobilized by roots wrapping around her, sprouting from the ground.

As Ginny tried to break free, Zacharias stood up, wand at the ready.

Zacharias: STUPEFY!

The spell struck Ginny, rendering her unconscious.

Flitwick: THE WINNER, ZACHARIAS SMITH.

Gryffindor's stands fell silent, while Hufflepuff erupted with celebration, and the other houses joined in applause for the victory.

In the professors' booth...

McGonagall: How did this happen? They seemed evenly matched.

Moody: Mr. Smith outmaneuvered her. He led her on, so that when the rock rose, it blocked her path.

Moody: Once she stopped, he had control of the duel. Though Miss Weasley sought a direct spell confrontation, she wasn't expecting the root spell.

Sprout: I thought it was brilliant of him to use that spell, which resembles Devil's Snare. The more you struggle, the more it restrains you.
