In a dimly lit room, the silhouette of a figure abruptly sits up in bed, breathing heavily. The figure reaches for the switch, illuminating the space.
Minerva thought, What a nightmare that was.
She observes her trembling hands, trying to recall the details of the troubling dream.
However, her memories seem blurred and erased, as if something had obscured them.
As she tries to focus again and remember, she can only conjure up fragments, all of which become confused and nonsensical.
Minerva walks over to her desk, takes out a piece of parchment, and, with a quill, begins to write down what she can remember.
Several former Gryffindor students had decided to support me.
I remember calling the house-elves, but I don't know why.
We also explained the truth about Albus's death to the Order.
Minerva said, But that doesn't make sense... I'll inform them at today's meeting. It must just be the stress.
Taking a deep breath, McGonagall descends to the Great Hall for breakfast, where several professors are already gathered.
Upon her arrival, she notices three of them cheerfully chatting at a table.
Sprout: Good morning, Minerva.
Flitwick: Good morning!
Minerva: Good morning, everyone.
Hagrid: Good morning, Professor McGonagall.
Minerva: You can call me Minerva, Hagrid. After all, you're a professor too.
Hagrid: I'll try to get used to it.
Minerva: What were you all talking about?
Hagrid: We were betting on who you would name as the new head of Gryffindor.
Sprout and Flitwick exchanged disapproving glances at Hagrid, who immediately covered his mouth with his hands, realizing he had spoken too much.
McGonagall, though serious, sighed with resignation.
Minerva: I haven't thought about it yet; I've been busy with another matter.
Hagrid: You will help us with this, won't you?
Minerva: I hope so... It's our only hope.
Sprout: I hope everything goes well.
Minerva: So do I.
Sprout: Something is bothering you, isn't it?
Minerva: How do you know?
Sprout: We've been friends for a long time. Besides, your fingers keep tapping on the table.
Minerva: You're right, I'm worried. I had a dream th...
Minerva is interrupted by a voice from behind.
Trelawney: Did someone mention a dream? My inner eye senses that this is troubling you.
Minerva: How long have you been there, Sybill?
Trelawney: I just arrived, and no, I wasn't eavesdropping.
Minerva: I didn't say anything about that.
Trelawney: Putting that aside, what was the dream?
Minerva: Nothing important, Sybill.
Offended, Trelawney turns her attention to her breakfast.
