102. THE MONSTERS END

Chapter one hundred and two

"The monsters end."

Making it back to the tower, the two were running up just as the horde arrived and they weren't the only one's, as Carol and Kelly were there as well, Daryl ran up to the door and opened it "go, go, go!" he voiced, as young Daryl ran in, Kelly and Carol followed in behind, where as Daryl came in shutting the door, a walker got caught in it, as he grabbed it and threw it into the wall, Carol stabbed it in the head, as Daryl closed the door, having headed upstairs to join the rest, dog, Judith, Caroline and Rick ran up and hugged their brother, he hugged them back.

Where soon, they all were standing around Gabriel "are plan is the same. We lead the horde away, just not from oceanside as we had planned. Once the walkers are clear, we evacuate to rendezvous point B. Luke. We ready?" he asked "yeah, yeah. Uh, technically." Luke shared, standing up "okay. So, these are the final pieces that we need to connect to the wagon. But in order for it to do the pied piper thing that we need it to do over the cliff, we gotta get from A to B, and I gotta plug and plug, and then we should be good to go." he shared.

"That wagon is on the other side of the horde." Magna shared "so, someone's gotta go through it? With skins in there." Jerry shared "four groups. Two in each. One carries the cargo, one protects. It's crucial that all the equipment makes it to the wagon." Gabriel shared "we can make it through." Lydia said, as they all looked to her "I'll help." she told them "we're willing. But not if she goes." a girl from oceanside shared "we know she's earned trust with you, but..oceanside isn't ready." Rachel shared "that's fine. As it happens, Lydia's role is in here." Gabriel shared "look, we're not all gonna make it through but this is the only way." Daryl shared "Daryl's going, then so am I." Kelly shared, as the two nodded at each other.

Where they all were soon getting ready, as those who were going there had put walker blood on them to walk through the walkers, the kids along with dog were standing there watching them "it's time." Gabriel said, as he walked up and opened the door, Jerry and Magna walked out followed by Luke and his girlfriend then Rachel and her friend from oceanside followed by Carol, Kelly, and Daryl who as Gabriel closed the door turned back and looked at the kids before turning around and heading out.

Time began to pass by, as dog and the kids were standing on top of the stairs, waiting for if anyone tripped the wire that was connected to the makeshift explosive, and as it went off, a man screamed, as Rick stayed back with dog, Daryl, Judith and Caroline ran forward looking over the edge, seeing a half burnt man on the stairs with a stick through his right eye, another one was coming up the stairs behind him "run!" Daryl voiced, as Rick and dog ran, Judith, Caroline and Daryl were right behind them, as Daryl turned shutting the door, Gabriel, Rachel and Lydia along with the others ran up to them "they're coming up." Judith told them.

They all then began barricading the doors and getting to the evacuation plan, as the kids were standing together, Negan walking by and as he did, he picked up Rick and kept walking and as he did, Daryl, Caroline and Judith followed, as they headed over to an elevator, a rope was down it, as Negan picked it up "I'm gonna head down first with him. Once I get down, you three will follow one at a time." he shared "got it." Daryl told him, as Negan headed in with Rick and began doing down, once he had reached the bottom, Daryl made sure Caroline went down next and then Judith, where as he grabbed the rope, he turned around and looked at dog, before turning around and heading into the elevator, climbing down.

But when they got down there, they didn't run instead, Negan took out his walker skin mask and put it on and as he did, Judith had used her katana and cut down one of the walkers where she, Daryl, Caroline and Rick had covered themselves in blood, where they all began walking with the horde, where they had been in the back watching Beta.

And as night came, thunder was booming, as the wagon had been destroyed by the whisperers and it started raining, as the blood began running down there faces "we doing this?" Caroline asked "he dies tonight." Daryl told them "no matter what happens." Judith said "at least we'll be together." Rick told them, as the four of them gripped their weapons and split up.

Where the sound of whisperers dying could be heard, as all four of them then saw Beta, as he pulled out his knife and began walking forward "hey, shithead." Negan said, as Beta turned and looked at him, he began heading toward's him, pushing every walker out of the way "hey, boogeyman!" Rick shouted, and as he did, Beta turned to him and when he did, Rick was gone as he came up behind and stabbed him in the leg with his bow staff, Beta spun around to grab him but as he did, Rick was gone.

But Caroline was standing there with her bow an arrow aimed at him, as he trudged toward's her, she let the arrow fly, as he knocked it out of the way like it was nothing, walkers were in his path, as he shoved them out of the way she was gone, as Judith was behind him, she swung her katana as he spun around, she stabbed him in the chest with it and as she did, Beta grabbed her by the neck, lifting her off the ground and as he did, the sound of a gun cocking could be heard "hey, asshole." Daryl said, as Beta turned to him, Daryl shot him in the head, as Beta let go of Judith, her body dropped to the floor, as Beta backed up, Daryl ran toward's Judith, pulling her up, the two ran off to join the others, while Beta was ripped apart.

Where by morning, they all regrouped out in the woods, where when dog saw the four of them walking up, he barked and ran toward's them and as he did, the four of them crouched down and began petting him, but as they did, Aaron walked by them with Gracie "there's someone you four should come see." he told them, as the four furrowed their brows, they stood up, walking after them, and as they did, they saw Alden standing talking to a woman, who turned around and crouched down to Gracie, but then she turned and looked at them, and when she did, it was Maggie, a memory came to Daryl.

It was years ago, he was either four or five, where he, Caroline and Judith were lying in their mother's bed sleeping, although Daryl wasn't "Scar.." Daryl said "you really wanna talk about this? While I sit here with my sleeping children?" Scarlett asked, getting off the bed "you wanna talk about how you and Maggie are the reason my husband is dead? What happened?" she asked "Scarlett.." Daryl told her "what happened!" Scarlett yelled, where he could hear her shoving him.
