103. BETRAYED BY BLOOD

Chapter one hundred and three

"Betrayed by blood."

Having walked away from Maggie, Daryl was on a mission, as dog ran beside him, Judith, Caroline and Rick were struggling to keep up with him "Daryl?" Rick asked, but Daryl didn't respond "Daryl, would you please slow down!" Caroline voiced, but Daryl didn't listen, as Judith stepped in front of him, and put her hands on his chest stopping him "stop. You've been mad since you saw aunt Maggie, why?" she asked him "because she's not our family. Family doesn't do what she..what he..what they both.." Daryl was saying, feeling like he couldn't breathe, his legs gave out on him.

"Daryl!" Judith voiced, as she crouched down to him, dog started barking, as Caroline and Rick stood there frozen eyes wide, Negan came running up to them "what's wrong?" he asked, seeing them all standing around, he then saw Daryl on the ground, he quickly kneeled down "what happened?" he asked "I..I don't know. One second he was talking and then he just dropped." Judith shared "it's..it's okay. It's just exhaustion. All four of you are exhausted. You've been going non stop. Let's get you all back home, alright?" Negan asked, picking Daryl up, Judith stood up, as she, Caroline and Rick along with dog began following him.

Having made it back to Alexandria, the whisperers had left it destroyed, but the Grimes home still remained standing, where as Judith opened the door, dog went in, followed by Negan holding who was still holding Daryl, Rick, Caroline and Judith followed behind, shutting the door, they all then headed upstairs, where Negan walked toward's the right and into the room that he knew was their parents, he walked over to the bed and lied Daryl down, taking his boots off of him along with his jacket.

Judith, Caroline and Rick did the same with their own, before climbing into bed next to him "alright, you guys need anything else?" Negan asked "no." Judith told him "okay. I'll um..I'll be downstairs if you need me." Negan shared, turning and walking out of the room.

The next morning, the four of them were still sleeping, as dog was lying at the bottom of the bed "Daryl. Daryl." he heard their mom's voice calling out to him, as he sat up, hoping to see her, but it was all in his head, as he ran his hands through his hair, he noticed that they were back home, no longer in the woods, as he got up from the bed, he walked out of the room, heading down the hallway, he went downstairs.

Walking towards the kitchen, Negan was standing in there "hey, kid, you gave us a scare back there. You feeling alright?" He asked "did Maggie and Daryl try to kill my dad?" He asked, and when he did, Negan took a deep breath "a lot happened that day, kid." He told him "so they did." Daryl said "Daryl.." Negan told him "when I saw Maggie, I remembered my mom being angry at Daryl, wanting him to tell her what happened." Daryl shared.

"Kid, I don't think you wanna.." Negan was telling him "I wanna know." Daryl told him, and as he did, Negan pulled out a chair, Daryl walked over and sat down "nobody ever agreed with the fact that your parents after slitting my throat decided to save my life. And your father had thought building a bridge that would connect your community's would bring everyone together, but your mother she knew when someone wanted to kill so she didn't trust anyone except your father." Negan shared, leaning against the kitchen island "I know that already." Daryl told him.

As Negan let out a breath "that day, I had heard someone's feet outside the door, wasn't sure who because they didn't come right in, they just..waited. Where it wasn't till they spoke up that I knew it was your mother and who she was waiting for she wasn't happy to see. And that person was Maggie. She was here to kill me and your mother wasn't gonna let her. But she also knew that Maggie had done something to your father, because he would've been there already, so she left to go find him." he shared, pushing off the counter and walking away.

"And that's when Maggie came in to see me, kill me. And when she had mentioned her own husband, we talked about what I had done, but I just had to ask what she did to your father just like your mother did. And unlike her i got an answer." he shared, stopping in his tracks "what was it?" Daryl asked, but when he did, Negan didn't answer him, as Daryl stood up from the chair and walked up to him "what did she say?" he asked, and Negan didn't say anything as he turned to him, looking at him upset "what did she say?" Daryl asked, shoving him.

"She said that Daryl was with him. That he was to lead him away from Alexandria and do whatever he had to to make sure he didn't make it back." Negan shared, and when he did, Daryl shook his head "your a liar!" he voiced, hitting him in the chest "your a liar!" he voiced, hitting him again, but he knew it was true, and as Negan put his arms around him, he started crying "your okay, kid. Your okay." he told him, where down the hall on the stairs, Judith sat there with tears falling down her face, holding a crying Rick in her arms, as Caroline sat next to her crying as well, having heard the whole thing.
