This time I will protect them I won't be a coward

One week later,

Denki's nerves were acting up, he needed to distract himself.

It's been a week since giving his UA entrance exam and the awkward conversation he had with Bakugou during the train ride which he tried to put it in the back of his mind. 

He was literally on the edge, that he read the entire Harry Potter series in one week. Don't get me wrong, the Harry Potter series was a safe haven for Denki, and he also had passed his time by attending acrobatic classes with Lizzy, in order to keep his mind off of everything.

He really needed to distract himself right now.

So, he walks up to his bookshelf and contemplates which book he should pull out to read. After much thought he picks Emma by Jane Austen.

Happy with his choice he sits down at his little reading nook corner.

He sits down on the little couch and opens the book's firs page of chapter 1, when a soft knock is heard on his door.

Denki sighs and puts the book down and goes to open the door to see who it was.

Denki opens the door to see that it was Lizzy, and she has a big grin on her face and says with excitement in her voice, "It's here your UA letter!".

She hands the white envelope with the glittery wax logo of UA high envelope into Denki's hand and once again grins up at him and says, "I will wait for you in the kitchen". 

At this Denki gives Lizzy a quizzical look while she runs downstairs, giggling with joy.

After Lizzy is gone, Denki closes his room door and places the envelope on his study desk and stares at it for a while with a dreaded feeling.

He thinks to himself, 'I know I have passed but why the bloody hell do I feel nervous. I will open the envelope on the count of 1..2..3 go'.

Denki tears open the envelope, and a little disc starts displaying the video, Denki gulps as the video displays only a chair and a table, it looked like an office room with no one in sight. That's  when the chair suddenly turns, and Denki let out a small 'eeps' sound and covers his face and thinks he got sent the wrong disc accidentally.

When all of a sudden a voice is heard from the video, he recognises the voice and removes his hands from his face to watch the video, "That's right. It's me, Nezu, the one who could be a dog or a mouse or a bear, but more importantly... I'm the principal! Dear candidate 7013, you have been selected into the heroic course of Class 1-A. Candidate 7013,  you really are an interesting person, and I wish to see how far you will progress in these three coming years and I have very high hopes from you!. And you have been ranked 2 among the top 10 rankers of the UA entrance exam".

Hearing this Denki's eyes bulged out, he ranked 2nd in the UA entrance exam. He stole Bakugou Katsuki's original position which he had previously upheld.

He just can't believe it.

He was in total denial but was brought back from his thoughts when hears, Nezu san saying, "Congratulations on your accomplishment and I whole heartedly welcome you to UA high. And with that Principal Nezu san cutely waves his little pawn in the air and says, Bye bye".

Then the screen goes black and Denki stares at the blank screen for a while, what just happened.

He thought it was supposed to be Present Mic, who would tell him about his acceptance into UA high, but he wasn't expecting it to be Nezu san.

Wait a minute! did he alter the timeline.

He needs to write it down in his Plan book, he pulls open his study drawer and grabs the book out and places the book on the desk and flips through the pages and writes down the little changes that he had noticed or made on the new page since the day he had  time travelled back.

After he finishes writing, he goes downstairs to see why Lizzy had called him earlier to come downstairs.

When he enters the kitchen, he is surprised to  see a  chocolate cake with the wording written in white cream Congratulations on getting into UA high, little hero!  placed on the table.

Seeing this little surprise brings tears in Denki's eyes. Now Denki starts crying with tears slowly streaming down his face and rosy cheeks, while Lizzy runs up to him and gives him a tight hug and pats his back sympathetically as she knows how hard he worked for the entrance exam.

After the little crying spell of happiness, both go back to having big slices of chocolate cake with grinning faces along with some hot coffee.

After stuffing his stomach with the delicious chocolate fudge cake.Denki decided to take a hot shower.

So, he heads upstairs with his school uniform bag in his hand which was sent along with the envelope earlier after saying goodnight to Lizzy. Denki enters his room and goes to his wardrobe to grab his softest Pj set and then hops into the shower and turns on the tap.

Soon the hot water starts coming from the shower head and he starts scrubbing his whole body in strawberry shower gel with a loofah .

He used this specific shower gel because it reminded him of his mom's bear hugs and he got a little teary while remembering her as he missed his mom a lot. 

Due to her hero duties, she was transferred to the USA along with his father who already worked there as a lecturer at a university while Denki stayed here in Japan with his aunt Kiko and her adopted daughter Lizzy .

The happiest moment of his life was when they would come home for the Christmas holidays.

And those big warm hugs  which he would get when he was little, usually had a sweet strawberry scent lingering on her clothes and the hot chocolate nights they used to have with little mini marshmallows, sitting around the fireplace with Home Alone movie playing on the TV and his mother's coca butter kisses he would receive before bedtime and also when his mother would tuck him in the bed.

He wanted to keep these happy moments alive in his memory as he could feel these memories fading away into nothingness.

And after a few years both his parents  had stopped coming to Japan  due to the  heavy workload of their job and Christmas holidays never felt the same to Denki. But Denki was not sad as his mom was a Pro Hero and it  was her job to protect the people and Denki being Denki always kept his feelings himself whether it was a bullying or the inappropriate touches of his uncle for 2 years after which he was placed in a  rehab facility.

He always tried to stay positive even when his mental health was breaking him down from inside. Soon he was brought out of his musings as the water had gone all cold completely.

He sighs and turns off the shower head tap and changes into his comfiest Pjs and applies his favourite watermelon chapstick on his lips and blow dry his hair and jumps into his warm bed, giggling with the thought that he is going to meet his friends finally tomorrow.

WIth happy thoughts of finally getting to meet his cute and innocent friends, he falls asleep into the world of dreams.
