Back at Sir Nighteye’s agency, the time was somewhere between 6:00 and 6:45 p.m.

The sun was setting, casting warm orange rays through the agency’s tall windows, bathing the room in a golden glow.

Togata Mirio, face flushed deep red, looked Denki Kaminari in the eye and stammered, “Because I-I-I…”

“J, K, L, M, N, O, P…” Denki chimed in with a mischievous grin, interrupting him.

Togata’s breath caught in his throat as he stared at the cutie in front of him, utterly flustered.

Denki continued, his voice playful and teasing, “Q, R, S, T, U, V…”

“W, X, Y and Z,” Mirio finished, confused and blinking rapidly.

Pfft.

Everyone present there turned toward the source of the sound—Sir Nighteye, quietly chuckling to himself.

Midoriya facepalmed, while Kirishima Eijirou’s eyes darted between Kaminari and Togata, trying to make sense of the bizarre exchange.

Denki smiled at his classmates and senpai, then announced, “I need to head back to the trauma center.”

Aizawa-sensei sighed, rubbing his temples. “Remember your curfew, problem child.”

“Hai!” Denki replied cheerfully.

Togata raised an eyebrow at Midoriya and asked curiously, “I thought you were the problem child of Class 1-A?”

“I, um…” Midoriya stammered, flustered and unsure how to respond.

Denki hummed to himself as he walked toward the exit. He couldn’t wait for his two-hour duty to be over—then he could sleep as much as he wanted.

He opened the door leading to the staircase… only to be met with darkness.

Two albino children and a shadowy figure holding hands walked past him, phasing through the wall as they sang eerily:
“Thank you for sunshine Thank you for rain Thank you for joy Thank you for pain It’s a beautiful day-ay-ay-ay-ay…”

Denki’s eyes widened in horror. This was real. It was happening in real time.

He slammed the door shut with a loud bang, startling everyone in the room.

Clutching his shirt above his heart, Denki began to hyperventilate. His eyes were shaky, his breath uneven.

He after some thought, turned to Midoriya, who was now staring at him with an unreadable expression.

“Kaminari-kun, you look pale,” Midoriya said, concerned.

“Look outside the door,” Denki whispered, “and tell me if you see anything. Are the lights on?.”

Midoriya frowned at the strange request.

What an odd thing to ask, he thought, as he slowly made his way toward the door.
