Mia's POV
I didn't know how to process the news—my sister had been pregnant and given birth to twin boys. And I didn't even hear it from her.
Brian was the one who told me.
Dom had been in touch with Isa. But not me.
I was the one who helped her leave. I was there when she walked away from our old life. And now... I felt left behind.
Worse—I hated that she married Deckard Shaw. The man who had once tried to kill my family. For the longest time, I convinced myself he must've forced her into it. But now? I wasn't so sure.
The whole family was gathering. Dom and Letty were visiting with Little Brian, and even Jakob had been in touch, though he wasn't coming. I still spoke to Jakob. But Isa? She'd cut me off. Cold. And part of me understood why.
The other part? Just missed my big sister.
Just... not her husband.
Dom finally pulled me aside, his voice careful but firm.
"Mia, I talked to Isa. She invited us to visit. She wants us to meet the babies."
I blinked. "She was pregnant and didn't tell us? Why?"
Dom looked toward the kids playing outside with Letty. When he turned back, his voice had softened. "She was dealing with some things—with Deckard's family. But she was safe the whole time. And this is the first time she's reaching out."
I folded my arms. "What about my kids? You and Letty?"
"Letty and I are going. Little Brian's staying here. We're all going," Dom said simply. "I've made peace with Isabella and Deckard. You haven't even spoken to her. This is your chance."
I sighed. "I'll come. But I still don't like Shaw."
Dom nodded. "You don't have to like him. But you have to deal with it. You and Isa—you walked away too, Mia. Don't pretend you didn't. You ghosted her just like I did. I've owned that. Now it's your turn."
He looked me dead in the eye. "Either you come, or you'll never see those boys. We leave in the morning. Everything's booked."
With that, he walked out with Letty.
Brian came in after. "You should go," he said simply. "You need this, Mia. Jack and Olivia would want to meet their aunt. And whether you like it or not, you need to see her."
Then he walked out.
London – Isa and Deckard's Home
Next thing I knew, I was on a plane to London. Then in a car headed to my sister's house. Brian stayed behind with the kids—jet lag hit them hard.
When we pulled up, I saw two cars in the driveway. One empty space.
Dom knocked, and a blonde woman opened the door.
"Can I help you?" she asked.
"I'm Dom," he said. "Isabella's brother."
Her expression softened. "Come in. I'm Hattie—Deckard's sister. It's going to rain soon."
As we walked in, she added, "The babies are sleeping, Isa's resting, and Deckard's in the kitchen. Also, don't worry—Owen's not here."
The house was elegant but warm. Full of photos—of Isa, Deckard's family... and even us. One picture of Isa and me made my chest ache.
In the kitchen, Deckard Shaw was cooking. Beer in hand. Calm as ever.
Hattie grinned. "Bella's family's here."
