"Are you hungry?" Y/n asked, flipping on the kitchen lights. Seeing as there was a new visitor and the fact that he was no longer the only one living there, he had gone and organized the house. He gathered up empty wrappers, bottle caps, and cups strewn across the countertop and dumped them into a trash bag. Chara on the other hand, was lying on the couch with suspicious brown stains around her mouth.

"Not really. I wouldn't mind more chocolates," Chara replied.

"Yeah, need I remind you that you ate it all already? Four bars, gone without a trace. Just who could have been the culprit? Might it be the one with chocolate stains still on her face?" he wondered aloud, a teasing smile dancing on the sides of his lips.

Chara's face flushed red as she guiltily wiped the chocolate off her face.

"Don't worry princess, I'll get you more when I can. You'll have to deal with my mediocre cooking for now."

"You sure love dancing on spider webs Y/n. Just don't call for my mercy when you get stuck," she shot back with a vaguely threatening edge in her voice. She slumped back onto the couch, her eyes staring at the white ceiling.

"Yeah yeah. I'm sure you'd love to kill me right now. Anyway, I going to get a mattress from the basement. You can stay up here and, I don't know, meander around or something. Just don't go into my room. I still need to clean all of the papers and junk out of there," Y/n said, heading towards the basement door at the corner of the kitchen.

"You sure you don't need any help?" Chara asked, tilting her head backward, trying to look at Y/n from her lying position.

"No—... that's not a bad idea. Come on, I probably won't be able to carry the thing by myself," he admitted, waving his hands to gesture her over.

"Always needing my help huh?" She shifted her body around and pushed herself off of the comfy couch.

"As much as you need my chocolate it seems," Y/n retorted, opening the small door to the basement.

"Touché," she shrugged.

Y/n cautiously stepped down the steep stairs, waving his hands around aimlessly when he reached the bottom, hoping to find the light switch. Chara followed him down with slight difficulty, but nothing she couldn't handle.

"Twenty goddamed years and I still can't find this thing in one go..." Y/n complained loudly.

Chara snickered in the background, laughing at the absurd motions Y/n was making to find the dangling chain.

"Ugh. Finally," he groaned, giving the chain a light tug which brought light to the dingy room. Random gardening tools hid in the corners of the basement, and bags of wood chips were stacked neatly in a pile near the staircase. Two laundry machines sat idly by at the far end of the room as the generator hummed in the middle.
