"Why are we even here, man?"

"I'm telling you, this guy is the real deal. I saw what he could do with my own two eyes."

"Yeah okay. Magic was it? You sure it wasn't some optical illusion that's got you in such a frenzy?"

"No no no. No way it was just some parlor trick. It was like true magic, the type of stuff you read about in fantasy novels."

"Really bro? You sure you weren't on something?"

"Tch, come on man, you have to believe me. I'm telling you, if there is a god that oversees this world, it's him. His presence, his cadence, everything screams higher being, and if that wasn't enough, he has these... powers that can't explained through science or sleight of hand. It was like he was controlling pure energy, or light, or something like that. You have to see it for yourself to believe it."

"I don't know. It seems pretty outlandish, even coming from you."

"Look, if a god descends upon Earth and can prove the fact, then I'm going to follow their lead no matter what."

"Even if they're evil? Because I'm going to be honest here, this guy sounds like the final boss of a game or something."

"Hell yes even if they're evil! I'm not going against that, that's just suicide."

"...Whatever man, I'm going to beat your ass if this is some elaborate prank."

"I promise that you're making the right choice. There's a meeting today at this warehouse and I think he's going to be speaking. Come with me and I'll show you that I'm not messing with you."

"How long have you been a part of this anyway? I've never heard of this group in my life."

"Just over a year now. There's a bunch of people there, but we've been told to keep a low profile."

"And that's not suspicious at all."

"I thought so too, but it's just a way to slowly ease his into the public's eyes. Those who already practice their own religion would be pissed if they suddenly found out that their whole life of worship was a lie."

"It still doesn't sit right with me."

"Just go this one time. Trust me, it'll change your life."

A crowd of people gathered around a small stage set up at the edge of a dreary warehouse. Though the place was generally clean, the dusty windows placed at the top sides of the warehouse barely let any light in. Hushed murmurs slinked around the room as the last couple of members trickled in from the front of the building into the large ring of people bunched up in the middle. Speculation and rumors passed from person to person, some elaborate and some shallow. Every second that ticked by only added to the mounting unrest in the room.

Just as it seemed like people were getting ready to leave, the doors on the opposite side of the warehouse cracked open. The whispers dancing around quickly faded away. Heads quickly spun over in a mesmerizing wave, following the mysterious figure that barged in. That figure slid across the warehouse's worn-out concrete as if it were frictionless.

A woman quickly entered after the figure and then shut the door. She leaned up against it idly, her face slacked as if she couldn't care less about the mass congregating in the warehouse. In contrast with the hooded figure, there was nothing special about her. She wore plain faded clothes. Her dark hair was down, falling just below her shoulders. The only notable thing one could point out was her teal eyes, which seemed to glow in the peripherals of those staring at the hooded figure.
