A place in the sea of shifting times, where Past, Present, and Future combine.
"How are we looking Alphys?" asked the Cold Eye of Judgement.
"He's stable. Looks like our little Prince has ingested something he shouldn't have."
"Gee, I wasted my energy on what amounts to a tantrum-inducing stomach ache." The Cold Eye of Judgement leaned his back against a wall with his skeletal arms crossed, slight annoyance hidden in his smile.
"A joker as always, aren't you Sans?" Alphys noted before pressing a few keys on her handheld device and pulled up a file.
"DT contamination. Luckily there wasn't much left in his body, otherwise, it would have literally eaten him from the inside out. What was he like while you were fighting him?"
"Red eyes, very aggressive, and vehemently insisting on being with an old friend."
"Angel-723, yes?" Sans nodded in response.
"Hah... I had a feeling this would happen one day. He was never one to give up on something he wanted, was he? That would explain his recklessness. I mean, drinking a vial of DT? You'd have to be either clueless, incredibly stupid—"
"Or hopelessly in love," Sans finished.
"... right. DT aside from its negative nature, amplifies the person's ambitions tenfold. You would think that's a good thing, but it often leads to disaster, which is why it's classified as 'Seed of Calamity'. Determination was the originator of all DT in the world and was the strongest weapon against The Thoughtless, but his power was also the greatest danger to the rest of the Golden Gods. If he wanted to rule the world, he very well could have. That's why the D-Termination Protocol was created, to curb the danger of a being with DT in their body and ensure the stability of this world.
"What's up with the history lesson all of a sudden?" Sans' banal tone indicated he was losing interest in the conversation.
"I used to believe that there wasn't any DT left in the skies, thus my research and designs have been less than ideal when put against The Thoughtless, but I believe this—" Alphys pulls out an extremely small vial of red liquid from her lab coat. It was no bigger than Sans' pinky finger, and yet he could still feel the danger radiating off from it, "—could be the solution to our roach infestation."
"Oh? Now I'm intrigued, God of Wisdom," Sans replied, a true smile finally breaking his face.
\
"Y/n, could you have your friend sit over there in the corner? I have a patient's privacy to uphold." Dr. Stoikanov reminded.
"Oh right, Chara could you sit this one out?" Chara nodded and moved to the corner of the room that had a plant.
"Okay, so we have just uncovered something new about your mother's condition." Y/n's heart rate instantly speeds up.
"What about it?"
"It looks like we just we're looking far enough. After getting a sample tested on through a smaller microscope, we found pitch-black cells of some kind that were far too small to be any living organism, and yet they looked alive. It acts very much like a virus, infecting the host cell and then forcing it to make copies of itself till the mechanism in the cell fails and dies. The quantity in her blood was... It's not looking good. If we can't find a way to get rid of these black cells, they'll copy themselves to a point where critical organs begin to fail. And..." The doctors trailed off.
Y/n nodded with a stoic look on his face and replied, "I understand. Please tell me if there are any updates on her condition or this virus."
"Will do. Oh, and please try to enjoy your day. Kids like you shouldn't be getting gray hairs this early."
