XXVII. Unexpected

"Gail, its him..."

I spoke up as I heard Ashton's voice on the other line of the phone. I wanted to ask how he was doing and even the guys. I wanted to know how my boyfriend was even though he would call me from to time. Yes, its about time to tell him how much I miss him but I care about Gail and Ashton because I could feel their love is amazing. Their love is too good to be true and Ash keeps on trying. Its just so cool.

And as if on cue that I was about to speak up to Ashton, Gail smiled at me, lazily, grabbing the phone from me then patting my shoulder.

Then she went upstairs, to talk to him in the most private way.

I sat down on our favorite-and-only-couch in the house between Grey and Sophia who was next to Jas. "Okay, hazel grace," Augustus Waters, a guy who just died moments ago in a movie, said. It had been a routine for us girls to watch a John Green movie after we do something fun like ride in our bus for the whole morning and eat our breakfast there. Or even jog for four hours then play tennis for the remaining hour.

And yes we cried over and over again for the third time actually. I didn't really know how I could let other people see my soft spot in John Green's movies. It was weird and good the same time.

And as if on cue, as usual, that I was going to answer Augustus with his question even though I wasn't the Hazel he was talking to.

Hazel herself answered him with an "okay," which had the four of us squeal like cheerleaders seeing their crush(specifically hot dudes from seniors).

Grey was the one who turned off the movie only to look at what's new on E! News. I just really hope its good news and that it doesn't involve with any of the Ashton and Ella issue. Its been about it so long.

"Lets take a sneak peak with.. Ella!" the beautiful Guliana Rancic had said but after she said that, my eyes widen at the face of the so-called Ashton's friend which is on the screen right now, walking away from the paparazzi.

"Ella, are you and Ashton from 5sos dating?" She was asked so many questions that I wished Gail wasn't hearing right now but its a good thing Ashton was speaking to her right now.

Ella turned around after she got asked by that particular question. She then showed her smile, it was a warm smile though.

"Yes," She said, looking at the camera. I could see in my peripherals that the four of us girls had our mouths shaped as an "O", basically shocked by what she would say next. "me and Ashton are dating." We all gasped by her sudden answer. This is fucking wrong. No one expected Ashton to do this, if he really did.

I wasn't the type where I would judge a person the very first time I met them but I know Ashton wouldn't do this to us. To Gail. We all knew how they fit perfectly for each other.

But my own eyes and ears wouldn't deceive me though.

After about staring at the credits of that show, we ran upstairs to check up on Gail.

She looked a bit fine when we saw her stand up from the bed while holding the phone.

"Hey," Sophia cooed as we walk closer to her. It looked like the conversation with Ash went well by the look on her face. Like nothing happened.

I patted her shoulder. "You okay?" I asked, not once breaking eye contact with her.

"Y-yeah," She answered while holding up a smile. "well maybe he had to do something cos he hung up so fast without even letting me finish, but its all okay."
