Lauren woke to a heavy arm draped over her and the feeling of warm breath against the top of her head.

Antonio was always warm. He always fell asleep as soon as he hit the bed, then was nearly impossible to wake up in the morning.

On the other hand, Lauren was awake once light shone through the curtains. He would still be asleep, either laying next to her or holding her close.

Normally, she'd get up and begin her day revolving around training, but for the past few months, she let Antonio slow down her mornings.

He would still be asleep, either laying next to her or holding her close.

This was not one of those mornings.

"Wake up." Lauren poked Antonio on his side.

"Oof-!" Antonio jolted from the jab in his ribs. "Ow? Have you ever tried a normal wake up call?"

"You won't wake up that way." Lauren affirmed

"Still..." He rubbed at his eyes, barely able to open them.

"Let's go back to the Shiba House." Lauren rested her hand on Antonio's forearm.

"Oh..." Antonio froze for a moment, but tried to play it off normally. He stretched out his arms with a yawn, then pulled Lauren to his chest.

"Jayden hasn't called for us yet... even if he called, he would probably only need the colorful rangers back." Antonio reasoned, closing his eyes and hoping Lauren would drop it.

Though he knew she wouldn't.

"I want to go." Lauren stated simply, loosening herself from Antonio's arms to look into his face, only to see his eyes were closed.

"I don't want Jayden fighting alone. It hasn't been bad so far, but that can change." Lauren sank back into Antonio's chest, to which he held her tighter.

"So that's it. Vacation over." Antonio sighed, knowing he couldn't go against Lauren's one-track mind.

His fingers ran through her dark hair, slowing as something clicked in his head.

"...You know," He murmured, "Your hair is nothing like Jayden's. I haven't seen anyone in your family with black hair."

Lauren didn't respond. Though it was something that had crossed her mind in the past.

She had seen images of her predecessors, and most had blonde or brown hair. Both of her parents were blonde. Other relatives had the same, blonde or brown.

Still, with her facial features, it was clear that she was a Shiba. She especially looked similar to Jayden despite her black hair and pale skin.
