76 - Follicle / Severed

Kevin peered into the portal as he was running towards it, looking to make sure if Terry was okay. He had expected the worst but was awfully relieved that Terry seemed fine as of now.

It suddenly occurred to Kevin that Terry could last for a moment in the other world.

When Mia was taken into the other world, she did not immediately turn into a nighlok. The rangers assumed that her symbol power preserved her humanity.

This seemed to be the case as Lauren and Antonio risked stepping into the other world before and turned out okay.

Terry was of Watanabe blood and had the ability to use symbol power. Of course, it wasn't as strong and developed as the rangers who had been training for years, but it was there and it was something.

"I'll have to be patient..." Arachnion sighed. She had been anticipating Terry's transformation and was highly disappointed that it wasn't happening right away.

"We can get him back!" Kevin called out, especially so that Mike and Jayden would know from where they stood.

Their desperation intensified with the urgency of the situation.

As Kevin and Antonio neared the portal, storming with their blades in hand, they were suddenly blocked by 6 moogers.

They didn't appear to be like the typically weak moogers the nighlok used as pawns. Strangely, the moogers wore magenta cloths and seemed larger than usual.

"Get out of the way!" Kevin slashed at one of the moogers, but it didn't seem to be impacted quite much.

"What?" Antonio slashed through a couple of the moogers, but they still stood strong. "They're not normal!"

"Oh, would you look at that." Arachnion spoke as she dodged Jayden and Mike's attacks. "The pink ranger's transformation is beginning."

It was true. A low discomfort in Terry's chest began to swelter into something a little more. Small sections of his hair began to turn white by the follicles.

"He's in pain." Antonio furrowed his brows, his voice was filled with compassion and frustration.

Kevin and Antonio felt so close to the portal, but the moogers kept holding them back.

Seeing that Kevin and Antonio couldn't get past the 6 moogers, Mike decided to shift his focus from Arachnion to Terry, trusting Jayden to her.

Arachnion noticed the green ranger leaving her range and viscously darted her venomous tail towards Mike. But Jayden deflected it with his big ass fire smasher, allowing Mike to catch up to the other two rangers.

"I can tell you're already weak." Arachnion hinted that she knew Jayden had been injured prior to their battle. "I'll kill you nice and quickly."

Her words couldn't phase Jayden. His heart was already pounding like drum.

Jayden and Arachnion clashed exhaustingly, fire smasher versus scorpion tail and 8 expendable spider limbs.

Arachnion's limbs were sharp and would nick Jayden here and there even as he dodged her swipes.

It was difficult for Jayden to find an opening for attack when his flaming zanbato was heavy and slow.

The only plan he could think of was to let the nighlok build up her confidence until her confidence became carelessness. It usually worked on the nighlok with hubris.

Jayden continued to dodge Arachnion and letting her limbs nick him.

And it seemed that Arachnion enjoyed having the upper hand. Eventually her arrogance faltered her movements.

As Arachnion began to taunt Jayden, he found the opportunity to strike.

He engulfed his zanbato in bright flames and swung it around, letting it accumulate heat.

He then swiftly slashed the Arachnion's limbs.

Luckily, Jayden was able to sear and crack off two of Arachnion's left arms and one right arm. The fried limbs fell to the floor and twitched oddly before lying still.

Jayden was relieved that the attack was successful. It took a lot out of him.

Arachnion howled at the loss of half of her arms and flew towards Jayden in a rage.

Mike dashed towards the other side of the silk cake after Jayden blocked her scorpion tail.

He planned to glide through the moogers as they were busy with blue and gold and head straight to Terry.

As he was about to jump through the portal, he saw Terry heaving, until all he saw was the ceiling of the wedding cake.

"Shit!" A mooger had grabbed Mike and threw him back before he could step foot in the other world.

And even before Mike could react to being thrown back away from the portal, the magenta mooger slashed him.

But while that mooger was so focused on stopping Mike, Antonio sliced it to size with his barracuda blades.

As of now, only 4 more of the magenta moogers stood.

"We have to hurry!" Kevin peeped through the portal every often to check on Terry while clashing with the moogers.

The extreme paranoia and helplessness the rangers felt made them fight harder.

"Dammit." Arachnion looked at her severed limbs and moogers on the floor and accepted that the rangers were getting the better of her.

She decided to shift her focus towards escaping through the portal and closing it behind her. That way, she wouldn't die and they wouldn't be able to save Terry.

Right after Arachnion dodged Jayden's incoming fire smasher, she bolted towards the portal.
