15 - Spoon / Fist Fight 🔺

    Jayden woke up feeling miserable. He tried to move, only to feel a sharp pain in his head.

    Jayden flinched a bit when he noticed an arm and leg on top of him, only to look over and see that it was just Antonio spooning him.

    Lovely.

    Jayden wondered how Antonio got there. He had no recollection of the night before. But he decided to stay still in Antonio's sloppy embrace a bit longer before getting up.

    Emily was eating breakfast when Jayden made it to the kitchen.

    She was sitting alone with a solemn expression, but brightened up once she saw Jayden.

    "You're up late. How are you feeling?" Emily asked him.

    "A little better." Jayden smiled softly. He wanted to be cured and fight with his team as soon as possible. "And how come you're eating breakfast this late as well?"

    "I couldn't really sleep last night so I woke up late and missed morning training." Emily set down a plate of eggs and toast in front of Jayden.

    "I'm not hungry." Jayden told her.

    "You should at least eat a little. You'll need your strength." Emily expressed her concern. She knew that Jayden hasn't eaten a proper meal since being poisoned.

    "I'll take a bit then." Jayden gave into Emily's request. "How come you couldn't sleep?"

    "Jayden, can I talk to you about why?" Emily asked, trying to settle her weighty emotions.

    "Of course, Emily." Jayden gave Emily his undivided attention. He picked up that it might've been something serious. He gave her his undivided attention.

    "Well," Emily tried her best not to tear up, but her eyes instantly became watery.

    She feared that the second she opened her mouth, she would burst into tears.

    "It's okay Emily, tell me when you're ready." Jayden reassured her, all while neglecting his food.

    "My sister is going to die." Emily cried, sobbing uncontrollably. "I don't know what to say or do when I visit her."

    The news was shocking and awful. Jayden held out his arms, inviting Emily into his embrace.

    Emily noticed that Jayden was more thin than usual. It saddened her more.

    "Emily, you have to be with her and tell her how much you love her... and assure her that you can take care of yourself. Plus, we've always got your back. Show her about how strong you've become." Jayden's voice was low and silvery.

    Emily understood. She was so thankful for Jayden.

    She wished that she could help him in the same way.
