"Deker, this is where we part." Velos stopped in his tracks. "The rangers have established a forcefield around their home with symbol power. I cannot go beyond it."

"I see." Deker was in his human form with Uramasa securely slung over his shoulder.

"Remember to use this." Velos handed Deker a torch. "This torch is a remnant of Ignis, the flaming nighlok. At least she was of some use."

Deker took the torch in his hands. While the fire was bright and lively, it was stubborn, burning as it willed.

"Your ultimate battle awaits." Velos playfully curtsied and smiled smugly before slipping into a crevice.

Deker crossed into the forcefield, peering at the Shiba House.

"Who are you calling upon? The red ranger again?" Deker asked Uramasa, as he felt his sword beam with anticipation.

Kevin woke up to the cracking and snapping sounds of flaming deterioration.

He thought he was dreaming as he watched bright orange flames engulf his room. As the flames rose the walls turned black.

If he wasn't dreaming, why didn't he awake to the flames much earlier?

The pungent scent of smoke confirmed that his eyes weren't deceiving him. And instantly, he jolted out of his bed with the other rangers on his mind.

With the backside of his hand, he felt the door to his room. It felt very warm, meaning that there was more fire on the other side.

With fire conquering his room, Kevin had no choice but to escape through the window. He shoved it open and tried to squeeze his broad shoulders and toned triceps through.

After crash landing onto the grass, Kevin morphed into the blue ranger and summoned the swordfish zord.

"Mia!? Lauren?!! Jayden!! Antonio?" Panting heavily, Kevin ran around to the front of the burning Shiba House.

From his room, he wasn't able to see how great the fire was. Parts of the fire were beginning to die out as more spread and bloomed.

Even though he wanted to assure the safety of his friends, Kevin knew what Mentor and the other rangers would want him to do in this situation.

And so, Kevin began to shoot rounds of water arrows with his hydro bow at the flames, causing them to die down slightly.

He knew that he had to do his best to stop the spread and preserve the Shiba House.

Ultimately, Kevin had to trust in his friends' ability to escape on their own.

"Antonio!" Mia spotted him searching through the fire.

Both of them were morphed into their ranger forms, with their colored helmets reflecting bright orange light. Their helmets allowed them to breathe and see through the smoke.

"I was looking for you! Where are the others?" Antonio yelled through the sound of roaring flames.

Antonio needed to make sure everyone was safe. He was a friend before he was a ranger.

Without replying, Mia used her sky fan to blow out the fire on a small section of the wall. Before the fire could catch again, she cut out that part of the wall, creating a new exit to outside.

"We can't think about them now. Help me take these outside!" Mia pointed to the samurai rangers' ancient knickknacks and valuables.

Antonio wanted to grab Mia, take her out of the house and look for the other rangers. But he knew she wouldn't leave without the valuables.

"Right!" Antonio gave in to helping her.

Mia and Antonio grabbed as many of the archives and relics they could possibly fit in their arms, avoiding the burning walls and furniture.

After they both made a couple of trips, they had taken everything outside and to a safe spot a little further away.

While they toiled, they had spotted the blue ranger trying to put out the fires from the front.

Right as Antonio hauled the last few items out, the flames boomed and coated their makeshift entrance in flames. They couldn't enter the house anymore, at least through that exit.

"Antonio, we can't go back in there." Mia yelled over the noise as she noticed the horror on his face through the helmet.

"What about Jayden?! Lauren?!" Antonio panicked over their safety. "I have to go back!"

As Antonio tried to dash back into the flaming room, Mia grabbed him. "It's too dangerous! They're both strong!"

"What if they're trapped?!" Antonio cried, tugging against Mia's grip. "She has asthma!"

Antonio couldn't wait around as his loved ones died in a fire. His feelings overwhelmed him, making him quiver as he tried to break away from Mia.

Mia picked up on Antonio's emotional state, knowing that the last thing he needed to do was charge into a burning building.

"I'm sorry Antonio." Mia had no other choice but to twist his arm behind his back and chop his neck swiftly and powerfully.

This maneuver was a brachial stun that knocked Antonio unconscious, causing him to demorph. It was a little trick Mia's grandfather taught her.

Antonio's unconscious body was heavy as it lunged over her.

With urgency and all her strength, Mia dragged her victim's body towards the safely stashed valuables. She left him to lay down by them.

Mia then rushed to Kevin, using her sky fan's wind to help disburse his water arrows and contain the fire.
