54 - Bubbles / Likewise

It was still the day that they fought Deker and Konservativ, only the sun had began to set.

When Lauren tried to open the bathroom door, she noticed that the knob wouldn't turn. And so, she decided to force it open.

As Lauren bursted in the girls bathroom, Mia was laying in the tub and jounced in fright. She curled up and quickly hugged her breasts to shield herself from the intruders eyes.

She was relieved that it was just Lauren. What was strange was that if it was Emily, she would probably feel embarrassed.

As Lauren's eyes caught Mia, Mia expected her to leave the bathroom. However, she did not exactly do that.

"Can I join you?" Lauren requested.

Lauren seemed sweet, but Mia was tired after fighting. She had anticipated some alone time all day.

"Sure," Mia replied. "But let's make bubbles."

Lauren smiled joyfully.

Mia squeezed soap into the water and started shaking it around, hoping that the bubbles would serve as a censor. She focused on how sweet Lauren's smile was in order to not regret her decision.

The bubbles worked and a decent layer of fluff floated on top of the warm water.

When Lauren took her shirt off and Mia couldn't help but stare.

Lauren's muscles were not a joke. Her biceps and triceps were quite defined and her abs were a sculpted six pack. And as she took off her pants, she revealed toned thighs and calves.

How?? Mia assumed that Lauren wasn't a really active person since she always stayed in her room.

"Warm..." Lauren said under her breath as she dipped her toe in, before submerging her body into the water.

They faced each other, leaning on opposite ends of the tub. Their legs touched under the water, which couldn't be helped.

The bubbles reached the perfect height, hiding both of their breasts

"I don't know you much, but you seem unwell." Lauren said after they had soaked for a minute.

"What do you mean?" Mia asked.

"You don't seem like yourself... even though I wouldn't be the one to know." Lauren tried to phrase what she was thinking.

"I guess you're right..." Mia never got over what happened to her with Dayu, and she sometimes faced post traumatic episodes.

Oftentimes, she'd have intrusive thoughts about what happened, making her shiver.

For that moment, Mia's humanity was torn away. She knew it wasn't true, but she had been made to feel like worthless.

To the nighlok, her life was disposable, just a toy.

"So what happened?" Lauren asked with her usual bluntness.

Willing to tell Lauren, Mia explained how she was taken to the other world and tortured for information.

"I should've been stronger. I became a burden and worried everyone." Mia admitted her feelings to Lauren.
