Lauren never witnessed the true destructiveness of fire until she saw her room going up in flames.

She could feel that something was odd and urged to find her twin brother.

Shielding her mouth and nose from the smoke with her elbow crease, she yanked open her door.

Going through the hallway was too risky since fire was scattered everywhere, but she ran through it without hesitation.

The heat was intimidating. The slightest mistake in her steps resulted in burns on her arms and legs.

Her sweatpants began to catch on fire, but she patted it out when she made it to Jayden's room.

When she looked up, she saw the red ranger with Uramasa held against his neck. Jayden was cornered and out of breath.

There were no second thoughts as Lauren flicked her samuraizer open. Her eyes locked on the skull faced nighlok as she wrote her symbol.

Deker was taken aback. He knew not of a black ranger, but there she was.

"This is the one. You've been calling the black ranger." Deker communicated to his sword under his breath. "And this is what Velos meant."

Lauren charged at the nighlok with her spinsword, clashing with Uramasa. She knew she couldn't waste time since she and Jayden needed time to escape.

Sparks flew as their blades glided off each other. Lauren quickly slashed Deker and kicked him into the fiery wall, making the whole room rumble. Deker roared and jolted off of the fire.

"Jayden leave!" Lauren yelled.

"We'll leave together!" Jayden yelled back, angering Lauren. He couldn't leave his sister to fight a monster and escape all on her own.

After rolling his shoulders, Deker immediately snapped his head at her with the same intensity as the time they were on the building top.

Tightening his grip on Uramasa, Deker's crimson face and white features glowed a fiery orange.

As his dark aura began to envelop the room, Lauren's swinging night chains dispersed the darkness and seemingly absorbed it.

Lauren aimed to kill him as soon as possible, but Deker's technique was swift and deadly.

With his feet grazing the floor, Deker whipped Uramasa at the black ranger. She squatted as Uramasa lashed the air above her, avoiding decapitation.

Quick on her feet, she maneuvered away from Deker's next attack, allowing him to halve Jayden's queen bed.

Deker twisted his neck like an owl to dart his eyes on Lauren, as if he was trying to intimidate her again. The rest of his body followed his head after a second.

You can't scare me.

Lauren and Deker clashed, with the walls burning down around them. They both avoided fires like the plague while trying to use its harm to their advantage.

Jayden helplessly watched Lauren fight darkness with darkness as his belongings turned to ash. Deker had roughed him up earlier and his ribs still hurt.
