All eyes turned to Jayden the moment he entered the monk's sanctuary, following Mentor Ito.

The 7 monks in the room kneeled by the center table, promptly adjusting their positions.

It seemed as though they had been prepared to chat with Jayden despite claiming he should rest.

"We didn't think you would arrive so quickly after we sent the letter." Mentor Ito took one of the empty seats to Jayden's surprise.

Why was a mentor in a position of power at the monk's table? Did Mentor Ito suddenly become a monk and climb the ranks after Lauren left?

"Would you like some tea, red ranger?" A monk offered with an awkward smile, pouring it and sliding it towards his seat before he could answer.

Jayden glanced at the cup, noticing there wasn't any steam rising from it.

"It's quite empty outside. Where is Ji? And the others?" Jayden knew the monk's temple as a lively place with a peaceful atmosphere. There would be monks meditating or reading outdoors.

But now, the air seemed so thick and the vibe seemed eerie. Almost enough to make him shiver.

And surely Ji would be aware of Jayden's arrival and try to meet him. Unless he was upset from the time he visited the Watanabe house.

"Around this time, they must be monitoring the seal. That gold ranger did use an evil spirit to create it." Mentor Ito replied. "Sit, let's talk until they come. I'm sure you have a lot to say."

Jayden sighed, deciding that Ito's response was plausible. Reluctantly, he took a seat and set his cane beside him.

"Let's get straight to the point." Jayden asserted.

"Agreed..." A monk spoke up. "I am sure we are all aware of what the other side wants. Now we must decide what course of action will be carried out from here."

"We are aware that you broke into the academy to capture the black ranger. Mentor Ito was in charge at the time." The monk looked to Jayden for his response.

From this moment, Jayden knew it was 8 against 1. He was the voice of the rangers and had to argue on their behalf.

"Yes, the rangers brought my sister home. Her health has improved since." Jayden defended their actions.

Though Mentor Ito spent time training Lauren, he didn't seem to care all that much.

"I would also like to mention.." Another monk spoke up. "After failing to seal Xandred and ignoring our instructions, you have proven to us that you are all not adequately disciplined in the way of the samurai."

"Yes. As you are the red ranger, we are confounded by your poor management of the rangers since Ji moved here." A monk locked his fingers together in a domineering manner. "At this point, we have little reason to trust your leadership."

Everyone glared at Jayden with such tensity, shadows casted over their faces.

The monks seemed to be mentioning whatever they could to make the rangers look irresponsible. All Jayden needed to do was stay cool and knock down their accusations.
