It was another cold afternoon with strong winds. After lunch, Kevin and Daisuke naturally ended up having a conversation in the main room.

Mike hung around, pretending to be interested in the ancient folklore Daisuke and Kevin discussed. Really, he was there for the space heater.

"Daisuke sensei!" One of the students dashed into the main room, where Kevin and Daisuke were talking.

"What is it?" Daisuke picked up on the student's urgency as he was heaving from running.

Normally, the students wouldn't enter the faction of the house where the Watanabe family and the rangers resided.

"Terry's room!" The student spoke frantically, trying to catch his breath.

Terry's room was in a distant part of the house as a safety precaution. Far from the main living space and closer to the gardens.

He was surveilled 24/7 by the rangers, with the help of the few students and servants who lived within the Watanabe house.

Mia was an exception to the surveillance mandate. Of course, she visited Terry every day, but it was too difficult for her to watch over him for long.

The effects of the other world on Terry remained unknown. And no one knew the extent to which Terry's inborn symbol power protected him.

"Someone broke into Terry's room!" The student pointed harshly in the direction he came from. "The yellow ranger told me to run here!"

"Emily?" Mike and Kevin jolted out of their seats. For the first time in a while, their heads switched into ranger mode as they began to run towards Terry's room.

"I haven't met you before. Are you new here?" Jayden asked the woman who greeted him in the infirmary.

She was dressed in the same garb as the servants. But from what Jayden knew, there were only 3 servants in the household and he had never met her.

"I was recently recruited." She had one of those perfect smiles.

Her brunette hair was kept in a loose braid. There were auburn freckles on her warm colored skin, which had an olive undertone.

"You're the red ranger right? I was told to come here and help you." She kept her smile on.

"Okay, thanks." Jayden sat down on a stool, taking off his shirt. "I haven't seen you here before. What's your name?"

"It's-" She was shocked by the strew of scars scattered around his anterior, mostly around his chest. Each scar had a different age, length, depth.

It immediately evoked a deep sentiment and pity in her. She couldn't begin to imagine the pain and fright that was behind each battle scar.

"I'm Mai." She immediately adjusted her expression, hoping that he wouldn't notice that she was shocked.

"And I'm Jayden." Of course he noticed, but he pretended not to.

"If I may." Mai stood behind him, beginning to peel the patch concealing the spot Arachnion jabbed him.

The patch was placed slightly towards left of his lower back. It was a square shape that seemed the have a length of 4 inches / 10 centimeters.
