When Mike ran away, the rangers did not worry much about him. But as it became later and later, their concern grew.
Half an hour after Mike left, Emily went to check his favorite arcade and food spots. But she ended up returning to the Shiba House without him.
Emily felt anxious. Mike was the type to run off, but he would never go where he couldn't be found.
She tried so hard to fall asleep, but she couldn't quit her worrying.
Her uneasiness finally became so unbearable that she finally decided to get up and prepare to search for him.
When she opened the front door she was startled to see Kevin, who was opening the front door from outside at the same time.
"What are you doing?" Kevin asked Emily.
"I was going to take out the trash." Emily knew that if Kevin knew what she was doing, he would stop her.
"I just took out the trash." Kevin raised a brow at her. He entered the house and closed the door behind him.
"Okay, I was going to search for Mike again. I need to find him. I know something is wrong." Emily was set on searching."Emily you can't. You know you can't. Mike will probably come back on his own. And we need to rest tonight to prepare for possible nighlok attacks." It was hard for Kevin to turn her down, especially since she was so worried.
"No," Emily stood her ground. "Mike could be in danger all because of you! All because you wanted to embarrass us and make that stupid announcement."
"It was against our rules! I had to bring it up!" Kevin reasoned. "Why are you pinning it on me when it was both of your actions?"
"Why do you think we took it that far? We didn't!"
"Then what was that?"
"It's none of your business!" Emily cried. "I'm looking for Mike because I am not going to rest until I know he is safe! I think something happened!"
Emily tore Kevin away from the door.
"Emily! Wait!" Kevin watched Emily run out of the house. He dashed after her as fast as he could.
Kevin knew that he could be tough, but he believed that someone had to lay down the rules.
As Emily cut through the outdoor training area, she grabbed a bamboo sword and launched it at Kevin.
It went so quick, Kevin either had to duck immediately or let it thwack him in the chest.
The weapon went over Kevin's head and hit a tree, causing it to crack slightly.
As Emily dashed away, Kevin grabbed the bamboo sword.
He knew if he ran, he wouldn't be able to catch up to her. So he chucked the bamboo sword at her feet.
His aim was spot on. When the sword whacked the back of Emily's legs, it snapped in two and left a whiplash on her skin.
The impact caused Emily to lose her grounding and fall over.
She was shocked that Kevin attacked her so hard. They always held back their strength when facing each other.
"I'm sorry." Kevin picked her up and hauled her back to her room, even though she kept punching him all the way through.
He felt sorry for resorting to rough tactics, but it was to protect Emily.
If she were to get lost as well, the situation would worsen drastically.
"You have to stay in this room." Kevin put Emily down, allowing her to hold her legs that stung from the hit.
He grabbed two pieces of paper and wrote two symbols on them. He then plastered one on the door and window.
"I'll know if you leave the room." Kevin warned Emily as he began to make his way out of the room. "And I'll stop you again."

Morning came along with a knock on the door. Mia was already passing by the front door, so she answered it.
"Antonio!" Mia hugged him. "You're back!"
Antonio smiled and hugged her softly.
"You've gotten stronger." Mia felt that he put on more muscle in their hug.
"Even though I flunked samurai training up in the mountains, I did work out a bit." His voice sounded different, yet just as lively as it always was. "It's all work and restrictive lifestyles with those monks. I'm sure they're glad that I left."
"You'll still always be a samurai to us." Mia encouraged him. "How long are you going to stay?"
"I'm going to live here!" Antonio patted his shoulder bag, which contained his clothing inside. "Mentor's not here, so it'll be that much better."
"You and Mentor still don't really get along?" Mia couldn't get over how long they've known each other, but still failed to get along.
But she was also happy to see Antonio's big smile.
Mia was relieved to see that training in the mountains didn't make him all stern and humorless. He was the same old Antonio.
"Jayden!" Antonio went to hug his stern and humorless friend. "You look a little more serious than usual."
Mia couldn't help but feel a little tense around Jayden. The kiss really surprised her. She never would've imagined that Jayden felt that way about her.
"I'm fine Antonio. Glad you're here." Jayden patted his shoulder. "But we have a major issue. Mike is missing. I'm thinking about calling Ji if we suspect he's in danger."
"Huh?!" Both Mia and Antonio couldn't believe that they'd need to call their mentor back so soon.
"So, we should let him know if we can't find him after our search, right?" Jayden suggested.
"You want to call Mentor back the second I come here?" Antonio groaned.
"Fair enough." Mia replied to Jayden with a hint of disappointment. "Also, you're sick. You should stay behind."
"I feel fine right now." Jayden ensured her. "Anyway, where's Emily?"
"Last night, she tried to leave and find Mike. Kevin told me she was really convinced that something bad happened." Mia replied.
"I'll check on her." Jayden went off to her room.
He knocked on her door to no reply, which led him to assume her was upset. When he cracked the door open and peeled through, he saw Emily's silhouette under the covers.
"Emily, I'm coming in." He opened the door all the way and entered the room.
Jayden placed his hand on what he thought was her shoulder, but turned out to be a pillow.
"What.." Jayden pulled the covers off the bed and saw that there were only a bunch of pillows under the covers.
Emily wasn't there.
