Antonio and Kevin stood by Jayden, ready to fight with him.
Kevin clashed swords with Deker, not expecting for the nighlok to be so strong.
"You're not worthy." Deker withdrew his sword from Kevin's and roundhouse kicked him out of his way. Kevin hit his head against the floor, causing for his vision to become blurred.
"Kev!" While Deker was kicking, Antonio tried to attack with his barracuda blades. But with one swipe of Uramasa, Antonio's weapons flew out of his hands.
Jayden swung his spinsword at Deker's head, but Deker grabbed his sword and held it firmly in place.
Deker slashed Antonio across his chest before letting go of Jayden's spinsword.
Though the wound wasn't lethal, Uramasa's attack left an electrical sting, making it too painful to move.
"Antonio!" Jayden yelled as the gold ranger demorphed.
Lauren couldn't bare to watch anymore. Though Jayden was strong, he wasn't strong enough to take on Deker by himself.
I want to twist this nighlok so badly.
Lauren had prepared to jump into the battle when Jayden yelled, "Stay back!"
It looked as if he was talking to Deker, but Lauren understood that his words were meant for her.
Lauren sucked her teeth and kicked the building top's fencing. Jayden was trying to protect her.
As Jayden and Deker circled around each other, Mia joined the scene.
Since she killed Konservativ, her senses were heightened.
However, Deker only saw her as another obstacle from giving Uramasa a long awaited thrill.
Deker sprinted towards her quickly, prompting Jayden to follow.
"Don't touch her!" Jayden sprinted as quickly as he could.
As Mia saw Deker coming straight at her, she used her sky fan to propel herself into the air.
As Deker's eyes followed her up, Jayden caught up and bashed him with his fire smasher.
Mia swooped down for an aerial attack, also hitting Deker head on.
While Mia held him off, Jayden charged up another fiery attack with his fire smasher.
With Mia's aerial and speed advantage along with Jayden's slow and powerful attacks, they stood a chance.
Jayden delivered yet another blow on Deker, causing him to growl from burning frustration.
"Uramasa yearns for the ultimate battle. I can't have anyone interfere between me and the red ranger!" Deker's objective to get rid of the pink ranger solidified.
Jayden used his symbols to switch to either his spinsword and fire smasher, allowing him to switch between increased speed or power.
As Jayden switched back to his spinsword, Mia landed, having used a lot of symbol power from flying for a while.
Mia and Jayden approached Deker together, who stood on guard with his uramasa.
When they came, Deker slashed across Mia's chest and tossed her over his head so he could deal with the upcoming red ranger.
As Jayden swung his spinsword, Deker dodged and kicked outward, driving his foot into Jayden's spinsword.
The kick shattered the spinsword and the impact against Jayden's chest made him fly backwards and into a building's window.
Lauren had enough. She parkoured down the building and was about to whip out her samuraizer.
However, when she landed someone grabbed her wrist and kept her from proceeding.
She turned to see Antonio kneeling on the floor and holding his wound with his other hand. His eyes were filled with concern.
"Lauren, you can't." His grip on her wrist became tighter.
Antonio knew what happened to the previous black ranger and put the puzzle pieces together. He knew that keeping the black ranger a secret wasn't only a matter of having the edge over the nighlok, but also for her own wellbeing.
Lauren began to tremble, already knowing that the best decision was to stay put. The voices of her mentors rang in her head, telling her to be patient and have trust in her teammates.
But her heart couldn't stand doing nothing to protect the rangers with all of her power. What was even more frustrating was that she knew that she could take Deker.
"Take some deep breaths." Antonio noticed her anxiety. "Don't throw away everything you've been working for."
Lauren slipped her wrist out of Antonio's hand and dashed towards the scene.
Suddenly, she came crashing down as Antonio tackled her.
Antonio twisted so that he would land on his back. His arms wrapped around Lauren, his hands bringing her head towards his chest as they landed.
"You have to stay here, please." Antonio kept his arms around her, his blood staining her black t-shirt.
Her blood boiled as she couldn't do anything. And if she couldn't do anything, she didn't want to watch.
She buried her face into Antonio's shoulder. The same eucalyptus scent was on his hair from the other night.
Once again, Deker didn't pay any mind to Lauren's commotion. As far as he was concerned, Lauren was a mere human; weak.
Deker slowly walked towards the target he wanted to eliminate. Mia tried to get up, but the sting from her wound hurt a lot just like Antonio's.
Deker placed Uramasa on her shoulder, piercing her skin again.
"Uramasa recognizes your blood. You're of the Watanabe clan... prevalent among the ninja storm." Deker allowed Uramasa to feel her neck.
"Uramasa wants to spare you." Deker translated his sword for Mia. "Now I shall face the red ranger in the ultimate battle."
Mia looked to Jayden, noticing that he was still in pain from his last hit. He hadn't moved from the spot he landed in either.
"Wait!" Mia relied on reason. "Your ultimate battle is injured and too worn out to fight. How could you battle him squarely after we've interfered this entire time?"
"Oh." Deker laughed madly as he didn't consider something so simple. Mia's heart raced, worrying that she had said something wrong.
"Uramasa cares not about honor, yet a square fight." The nighlok sheathed the sword and made his way towards Jayden.
Jayden watched Deker with a defiant expression as he stepped closer and closer. Whatever was left of Jayden's shattered spinsword was way out of his reach, leaving him defenseless.
Deker simply took a knee beside Jayden, placing two fingers on his chest right where he had kicked him earlier. "I should have known I cracked a couple of your ribs."
"Beware of Uramasa's impatience..." Deker grumbled before walking away.
