"I haven't seen the light zord in quite a while." Daisuke held it in his hands.

"Me and Em were able to finish activating it." Mike told Daisuke. "Also, Mentor gave us this little contraption called the black box. He said Lauren and Jayden would know what it is."

"Ah yes, the black box. It is the most powerful weapon of the samurai but remains incomplete. The first red ranger created it, but no one has ever been able to unlock it."

"About that, Mentor told us that Antonio should be the one to try to unlock it." Mike's message made Antonio jump.

"Me?" Antonio knew it was a grand task and didn't expect Mentor to trust him with it.

"Mentor said that with your abilities to manipulate symbol power, you can try and hack into the black box." Emily patted Antonio's shoulder. "You've got this."

"Once the black box is unlocked, you all will be given great power." Daisuke had full faith in the gold ranger.

"Right." Antonio's hands wavered as the black box was given to him.

He couldn't help but feel a bit nervous. Was he strong enough to pull it off?

"What's that?" Mike approached an unusual, half crimson sword on a table.

"That's the Uramasa." Daisuke replied. "It was found in the rubble of the Shiba House."

"You mean Deker's sword?!" Mike stepped back.

"Crazy." Emily stood by Mike. "I guess Deker really is dead."

Lauren had been unconscious since the night of the fire.

She rested in the medical room apart from the rangers. And Jayden often spent a lot of time sitting by Lauren, mostly reading.

He felt a great amount of responsibility for her injuries and tried not to wallow in guilt.

Jayden was certain that if he did not divert Lauren's attention to the ceiling in the middle of the fight, Deker wouldn't have been able to badly injure her back.

Maybe Jayden should've escaped when Lauren told him to, but he stuck around with good intentions.

Still, Lauren was fine according to the tests the medics ran. They claimed that she would be up in no time.

As Mia walked by, she noticed that Jayden was in the room with Lauren, reading a book while kneeling beside her futon.

Mia decided to check on both of them and kneeled on the other side of Lauren, facing Jayden.

Jayden lowered his book, using his pointer finger as a bookmark. He looked up at Mia and met her concerned eyes.

"So this is where you've been hiding all day..." Mia hoped she could get Jayden to open up. "You seem down."

Jayden thought really hard on what to respond with, but nothing simply came to mind.
