After Mike left, all eyes averted towards Lauren. All she did was close the archives she had in hand and place it down on the counter.

The atmosphere was awkward. Mia, Antonio, and Kevin weren't sure what to do or where to look.

Kevin deemed it appropriate to take his ice packs and simply leave the room. Mia left after stroking Lauren's hair affectionately.

Antonio on the other hand didn't leave. And so he and Lauren sat in silence.

After observing her for a bit, Lauren didn't appear to be hurt. She seemed to be pondering deeply as she watched Jayden rest.

Unlike Mia, Antonio didn't understand Lauren at all. He couldn't tell if she was broken or innocent. If she was brainwashed or outstandingly intellectual.

He was thinking too deep.

Antonio soon began to wonder if he should give Lauren privacy. Would she cry if she was all alone?

However he remembered how straightforward Lauren was. If she was bother by him, she'd tell him to leave.

Lauren coughed a couple of times. She instantly knew what was happening as she felt her chest tighten, causing her to breathe at a quicker pace.

Antonio looked at her, not understanding what was happening. He was trying to determine whether she choked on her own saliva or was having a panic attack.

"Inhaler." She forced the word out with an airy, raspy voice.

After taking a second to process what she said, Antonio flew out of his seat. "Where?!"

"My room." She coughed heavily after speaking again.

Without a second though, Antonio swept Lauren off her feet and rushed her out of the medical room, through the living room, and into the hallway.

He panicked as he felt her coughing and shaking in his arms while gasping for air.

Antonio burst into her room and set her on her twin bed.

Lauren pointed Antonio towards her dresser, which resulted in him accidentally yanking out the top drawer open in search of her inhaler.

But once he spotted it in the drawer, he delivered it straight into her hands.

As she sat straight and inhaled the medication, she felt her airways begin to open up. Though she immediately began to feel relief, she still wheezed.

Antonio was panting from running. His heartbeat was loud in his head from the fright he felt.

Lauren coughed more before hitting her inhaler once more. After a minute or so, her breathing was stabilized.

"I'm okay." Lauren finally told Antonio, expecting him to be annoyed and leave.

When she had an asthma attack, the monks would treat it as a sign of weakness. And no weakness was allowed.
