67 - Xandred / Turbulent

Jayden, Lauren, Kevin, and Emily rushed to the rocky shore with their weapons in hand.

Their determination intensified as they approached the eye of the black storm of lightning. They could feel Master Xandred's presence getting overwhelmingly closer and closer.

"There!" As Jayden spotted Xandred thrashing about, he and the others stopped and immediately prepared to fight.

"Black ranger!!" Master Xandred's voice boomed like thunder, nearly shaking the ground. "You thought you could escape your fate!?! I'll kill you immediately!!"

Master Xandred prepared to charge towards the group with all of his power, but suddenly his dark aura began to shrink rapidly.

The skies became clearer and the ocean stopped rocking. Not another beam of lightning struck.

"!" Master Xandred growled, realizing that he had overestimated his own ability.

But even though he wasn't able to maintain his dark aura, he still had a power advantage over the rangers.

"Hold him off." Lauren instructed the rangers as she lifted her samuraizer, prepared to begin writing the sealing symbol. "At all costs, don't let him get to me."

The three rangers understood their duty, nodding at each other.

Before they could charge forwards, Jayden quickly hugged Lauren. "You've got this."

"Take this." Lauren handed him the tiger disc without facing him.

Kevin could tell something was up with Jayden. His demeanor was unusually turbulent.

Was he afraid of Master Xandred or something else?

Most likely something else.

As Master Xandred roared unintelligibly, the red, yellow, and blue ranger went off to face him. And Lauren began to draw out the symbol immediately.

As each ranger clashed swords with Xandred, he knocked them back one by one.

But they all got up each time, hoping to overwhelm Xandred with their speed and numbers.

But soon enough, it became too frustrating for Xandred. He directed a beam of lightning at Jayden's abdomen, causing him to fly back into a boulder.

Kevin and Emily quickly stepped in, using the power of the swordfish and beetle disc to fend the nighlok lord off.

"Hang in there." Lauren muttered to herself, halfway done with the symbol.

After being attacked with the power of the discs, Master Xandred noticed that he was beginning to dry up.

His shoulders and chest became gray and chapped. His body became slightly more stiff.

But of course, Xandred ignored his condition. In fact it angered him.

"Grahhh!" Master Xandred slashed Kevin with his sword and shot Emily with a close ranger blast.

Emily was launched backward, but Kevin remained upfront. He coped with the pain while trying to keep Xandred in check.

Luckily Jayden had gotten up and attempted to stall Xandred with the power of the tiger disc.

"Ooh ahh ooh! Master Xandred! You must retreat!" Octoroo begged. He stood at a distance from the battle, fearing that Xandred would become angry if he interfered.

"Grahhh!!!" Master Xandred found Octoroo's words frustrating.

In a fit of rage, he blasted and kicked the blue ranger into the water.

He then overpowered Jayden, slashing him across his chest, then shooting him multiple times with his lightning.

Finally, Xandred saw a clear chance to hit the black ranger. He pointed his sword at her direction and prepared to strike her.

With all of his power, he fired a beam of lightning strong enough to kill. It crackled, turning from yellow, to blue, to a dark purple.

Lauren remained still, continuing the symbol. She put her trust in the other rangers to defend her.

"Lauren, get out of the way." Jayden struggled to speak and knew that she couldn't hear him. He tried to get up desperately, but couldn't move.

And Kevin was in the water, too far away from Lauren to do anything. He struggled out of the water and ran towards Xandred, but knew he couldn't make it.

As the beam was launched at Lauren, Emily lifted her earth slicer up with hopes to shield Lauren.

Her earth slicer absorbed a majority of the blow, causing the weapon to explode.

Emily screamed as her arm was knocked back so hard that it was dislocated. And with the explosion, she was launched into jagged boulders.

"Emily!!" The rangers worried.

Some of Xandred's attack reached Lauren's feet, but it wasn't bad thanks to Emily. Lauren was able to remain firm in her stance.

"Ooh ahh ooh! You've used all your power!!" Octoroo fought his fear and stepped into the battle. "You'll either turn to dust or get sealed if you continue!!"

Octoroo was right. Xandred was beginning to dry up rapidly.

But as Octoroo was trying to pull Xandred into the other world, Lauren had already finished to symbol.

"You are no longer allowed in our world Xandred." All Lauren needed to do was flip the symbol to activate it. Then her life's work would be complete.

"Thank you everyone."

Right after she activated the symbol, she demorphed and fainted. A glowing orb of light began to float out of her body, causing her skin to become pale.

The glowing orb was about to join the sealing symbol and complete it. But before the orb could reach it's goal, it stopped dead in its tracked.

Blood trickled down to Lauren's feet.
