Mia suddenly jolted up, startling Emily who was sleeping next to her.
"What is it? Did you have another nightmare?" Emily knew Mia still feared Dayu. Some nights she would cry in her sleep and wake up in cold sweats.
"Is it the next day?" Mia looked out the window. She didn't mean to fall asleep on the grass after the megazord battle, but ended up conking out.
"I guess so, it seems like it's the afternoon." Emily replied, not thinking much of it.
"And Jayden is still missing?" Mia yanked the covers off of herself hard enough that it was thrown off of Emily too. But Mia didn't notice as she went to look out the windows.
"Ow.." Mia's muscles felt sore from the battle yesterday. So did Emily's.
"I'm not sure." Emily mourned the loss of her blanket as it fell on the floor. "Still have no idea why he was missing yesterday."
"Is Lauren here?" Emily wondered if Lauren was sleeping in the bed above theirs. Since the room was small, they had a bunk bed with a queen on the bottom and a twin on top.
"No." Mia saw that Lauren's bed was neatly made. "I guess they put her in the room she was in before, with the medical stuff."
"Besides that, I think Jayden went to the monks temple." Mia was caught between feeling upset and worried. "No, he definitely did."
At this point of time, it was guaranteed that Jayden completed his journey there. It was too late to do anything about it.
She should've known that Jayden would go once he learned about the letter. She wished she hid it quicker.
"On his own? But he's injured." Emily was concerned as well. "Why would he make that trip all of a sudden? And without us too?"
"Well, the monks sent a letter asking him to visit alone. I didn't let him read it, but he knew about it.. Also I'm sure he felt like he needed to go after you and Terry were attacked." Mia explained.
"You committed a crime?" Emily found that more shocking than the other details.
"Emily focusss." Mia grabbed her shoulders and gently swayed her side to side.
"I'm sorryyy." Emily's voice was shaken up.
"What if Jayden is in danger?" Mia worried.
"How could he be in danger? Are you saying the monks would hurt him?" Emily thought it was a stretch.
"Remember, the monks could've been the ones that hurt you." Mia reminded her of the intruder. "We don't know anything, but we can still be cautious."
A knock on the door stole their attention.
"Come in." Emily called out, permitting Kevin to enter.
"Jayden isn't answering his samuraizer." Kevin's words made Mia's heart drop.
~~~
"Dammit Jayden..." His father, John, kicked the dirt, walking off his frustration. "When will you make any kind of progress!"
John's loud voice frightened the young boy, making him drop his wooden sword.
"Did Lauren steal all of your talent in the womb?" John barked at the 11 year old, who stood much shorter than him. "Tell me!"
