Jason's pov

I suddenly feel her put the helmet on my head. Oh no. I try to regain balance but an SUV smashes right into us. I don't even have time to react before I hit the pavement.

*later*

I wake up, my head pounding. Where is she?! I shakily stand up then fall to my knees, my leg hurting extremely bad. "Miranda?" I call, not seeing her anywhere. I'm totally freaking out now! An EMT walks over. "Your leg is broken!" He says. "I don't care. Where's my girl!?" "We didn't see anyone but you!" He says. I stumble a little. That can't be! "B-But she was on there with me! I have to find her!" "What you have to do is get that leg set!" He says.

Miranda's pov

Oh where am I? Where's Jason? I slowly sit up but that causes an excruciating pain to shoot through my head. "Whoa! Don't try to move! You've got a bad head injury!" A guy says, running in and making me lay down. "Who are you and where am I?" I whimper. "Well I'm Norman and I was driving by on my motorcycle when I witnessed your wreck." He says. "But my boyfriend! Where is he?! Is he okay!?" I cry, standing up, my headache worsening. "Wait, you've got to calm down. Your head will only get worse. You should've been wearing a helmet." He says. My hands are shaking as I stare at him shocked. "I was.... But.... At the last second when I found out we were gonna wreck, I put it on him!" I gasp. "Where is he?!" "I don't know."

Jason's pov

Doctor said I'd be dead without the helmet. Thanks baby, wherever you are. I have to get up and look for her! But with this bum leg, there's no way I'd get passed the staff. What do I do. Tully and Rachel run in! Oh crap! How am I gonna tell her?! "Are you okay?" I nod and tell them about the brakes. "Hey uh Rachel can you tell the doctor I'm awake." "Yeah sure." She leaves. "We have a problem. I have no idea where Miranda is. When it all went down and I woke up, she was gone! You have to help me find her!" "Of course but what do we tell Rachel?" "I don't know, that's why I sent her away." I shakily stand up again, ignoring the incessant pain that shoots through me. "Come on, don't just stand there. Help me!" He shakes his head. "You're in no condition to move around. I'll look for her. You just focus on getting better." I sigh. "You know I won't be able to. I'm too worried." "It's okay, I'll find her."

Miranda's pov

I really need to go look for Jason but every time I get up, I feel like I'm gonna throw up. "Hey, you hungry?" Norman asks, walking in. Tears well in my eyes. I want to find Jason so bad. He could be dead! That just makes me cry even harder! "What's wrong?" He gasps, sitting beside me. "I need to find Jason! I need to know he's okay!" "Wait a minute, Jason who?" "Jason Aldean, my boyfriend." "Oooh, this makes perfect sense. You're the girl the news has been talking about." "What do you mean?" He turns it on and it's a report of the accident. Jason's okay. He's at the hospital. Thank God! "Can you drive me there?" "No problem." He says, helping me up. A few minutes later, I stumble into the hospital and ask for his room number. "Thanks for all you've done. I don't think I'll ever be able to repay you." I say, hugging him. "No need to repay me. Now go get your man." I smile.

Jason's pov

Tully has looked all over Nashville. I don't know where she could be. They even did a news report. "I guess she's gone. It's all my fault. She's dead because of me!" "You don't know that! She could be alive!" Tully gasps, holding a crying Rachel. "I hope and pray you're right man." I mumble, miserable. The door opens and I look up, tears falling down my face. "Baby!" I gasp, struggling to get up. "Jason!" She cries, running over. I have never been so glad to see someone in my whole life. "I thought I lost you forever!" I cry, hugging her tight. "What happened?" "I just woke up a few hours ago. I saw the news report and a friend helped me get up here. My head's still a little swimming." "But you're okay?" She nods. "Just a hell of a headache." We're both crying. "Babe, you saved my life. Doc said I'd have been dead without the helmet." "A girl knows what's best." She jokes. I smile and sit back down. "Remind me never to doubt anything a woman says." "I'll hold it to ya." She always knows what to say to make me smile. Especially since I haven't seen her in a few days. Tully and Rachel have long since left. "I'm sorry I put you in danger darlin'." "It wasn't your fault." I kiss her. "How's your leg?" "The only thing hurting." "I'm so glad you're okay." She says, hugging me. "I am now that I know you are." I say, kissing her again. She lays down beside me, her head probably killing her. As much as I needed it, I wish she wore the helmet.
