Jason's pov
Tully hugs me. "I'm glad you guys are back." He says. "O....K?" What's with the hugging? Sierra babysits Jenny and I go back out to my truck where she waits. "Thanks for giving me a second chance." I say, holding her hand. "I'm glad I did. I missed you." "I missed you too." I kiss her cheek and drive us to a diner. "Tell me about these classes you were taking?" She asks, making me look up nervously. I hated those classes but it did help. "Oh nothin' baby just some anger management classes." "Well, what'd it teach ya?" "I don't like talking about it. What about your self defense classes you were taking?" "Oh I was lying about that. I was hoping it-" I stop her from talking with a kiss. I knew what she was gonna say. I just don't want to hear those words come out of her mouth. She was hoping it would help her get away from me. "Baby, if you haven't forgotten, this cowboy don't quit." "I know Jay." Our food arrives. "But we didn't order yet?" She gasls, confused. The waiter smiles. "I ordered for us darlin'. I still remembered what you like." She looks away. What's wrong? I sit up and hold her hand. "You don't have to be afraid of me anymore." "I'm not. It's just..... It's been so long.... It feels weird." "Weird? What do you mean?" "It's hard to explain." "I'll take it slow if that's what you mean." She looks back up at me. "Yeah, I'd like that. After everything that went on I have a much stronger trust threshold." Oh she still doesn't trust me. It'll take a while to get back to where we were before. But maybe one day, I can ask her to marry me again and we can be a family again.
*a few days later*
Miranda's pov
"I'm glad you're here to stay. We all missed you, especially Jason." Tully says. I sigh and stare at the floor. "Don't you have a show to get to." I grumble. He laughs and nods then kisses Sierra on the head. "I'll be back soon babe." He says. She rolls her eyes. "Sorry. He shouldn't have said that." "What happened when I left?" "What do you mean?" "With Jason, what happened? How was he?" She sighs. "You should ask him that, not me." "Was it bad?" She glances at the stage and nods. "Talk to him." I stare at the guys performing onstage. Tears fill my eyes.

After the show, Miranda runs over and hugs me tight. "Somethin' wrong hun?" "No." I can tell something is wrong. We go on back home. "Babe, what upset you tonight." "Nothin'. I was just thinking about stuff." "Like what?" "What happened? After I left?" "A lot happened. I got a new album out and a new number one." "No I mean what happened to you. Sierra said it got bad." Damn that girl. "No, I'm fine." "Jason don't lie to me." "Honey, I don't know what ya want me to say." I can't tell her I was a complete wreck after she left and all I did was hang around the house getting drunk and not talking to anybody. We drive home the rest of the way in silence.
Miranda's pov
I knew he wouldn't tell me. There's no way he'd admit that he'd broken down which I know he did. Rachel told me when I called once. "I'm gonna go take a shower." I mumble exiting. "I'm gonna go pick Jenny up from Dee Jay's I guess." He calls. I turn on the water, sit on the floor, and cry.
Jason's pov
I hope she's okay. Maybe I should just come clean and tell her how bad I crashed when she left. I am trying to earn her trust back after all. I text her telling I'll tell her when I get home. I don't get a reply probably because she's probably still in the shower. Man, I hope she's okay.
